According to Straits Times and local media, Abby Choi, 28, was found murdered and dismembered in Lung Mei Tsuen village in Tai Po district on February 24. The suspects in this case are her ex-husband’s family of four, along with a few other people involved, and the motive for the case is tentatively believed to be a property dispute.

DNA testing showed that the skull found in one of the two large pots of soup at the scene and the two pairs of legs in the refrigerator belonged to Abby Choi. Appearing at the hearing, Mr. Kwong Kau (65 years old, the victim's ex-father-in-law), Anthony Kwong (31 years old, the victim's ex-husband's brother) and Alex Kwong (28 years old, the victim's ex-husband) were each charged with murder.

Abby Choi (Thai Thien Phuong) was murdered and dismembered.

Jenny Li, 63, the victim's ex-mother-in-law, was charged with obstructing and falsifying the investigation. She deleted text messages and call logs from her phone after the incident. The other two suspects, Lam Shun, 41, the boat owner, and Irene Pun, 29, unemployed, were charged with assisting Alex Kwong in his escape. The suspects were not allowed to speak, but only listened to the prosecution present evidence and read the case report.

A seventh suspect, a 47-year-old masseuse and Kwong Kau’s mistress, was also charged with helping Alex Kwong hide. However, she did not appear at the hearing on May 8. Prosecutors also do not expect any further arrests, contrary to recent rumors.

The prosecution revealed that the blood on Anthony Kwong’s car matched Abby Choi’s DNA. More than 30 items found at the scene, including knives, chainsaws, hammers, etc., were processed and tested for DNA, so time was needed. In addition, Thai Thien Phuong’s mother, husband, and current parents-in-law of the late model were considered new witnesses, so the prosecution requested to postpone the trial until July 31.
