On April 24, the Vietnam Exhibition House at EXPO 2025 Osaka-Kansai, Japan, opened to welcome visitors and announced the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025.
This is the opening event for a series of activities of the Vietnam Exhibition House towards the 50th anniversary of national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1980 - May 19, 2025).
With an area of 300m2, through modern exhibition displays and language, the Vietnam Exhibition House at EXPO 2025 hopes to act as a convergence point and spread "proud stories about Vietnam" to international friends about a society that takes good cultural values as a foundation, puts people at the center, and uses endogenous strength for sustainable development in the era of striving, towards harmony, fairness, and leaving no one behind.
For the first time, within the framework of a world exhibition, information and images of Vietnamese provinces and cities will be introduced in turn at the Vietnam Exhibition House, creating opportunities for international friends to learn about the potential of Vietnamese localities, opening the door to future cooperation.
Vietnamese tradition, history and culture are vividly and attractively presented through modern technology platforms such as mapping, virtual reality, holograms, etc.
Visitors have the opportunity to learn about Vietnam's historical process, witness Vietnamese masterpieces come to life, and explore Vietnam tourism from afar...
One of the highlighted contents of the exhibition is the friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan.
The Exhibition House has dedicated a solemn space to review memorable images and milestones in bilateral relations between the two countries over the past 52 years.
The Vietnam-Japan imprint in the fields of culture, tourism, life and society is also shown throughout many other exhibition contents such as the image of a young Vietnamese girl wearing a white ao dai, holding a lotus flower, behind is a circle reminiscent of Japan - the land of the rising sun; bags made of Bat Trang pottery with flowers arranged in the Japanese Ikebana style; a painting of the Japanese Covered Bridge - Hoi An, a symbol of the bridge "between the past and the present" in the relationship between the two countries, the image of a Honda motorbike roaming the streets of Vietnam, present in the daily life of Vietnamese people...

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Tran Nhat Hoang, Deputy General Representative of Vietnam at EXPO 2025, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation, represented the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to introduce the National Tourism Year 2025 with the theme "Hue - Ancient Capital, New Opportunities."
“National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 includes 170 inter-provincial, national and international activities taking place throughout 2025, many of which are organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
To contribute to promoting the National Tourism Year 2025 and Hue city, the Vietnam Exhibition House cooperates with the city to continuously screen videos introducing the socio-economics, culture, tourism and people of Hue city on the screen system inside and outside the Exhibition House, display Hue's five-panel ao dai, perform Hue music in daily art programs at the Exhibition House and the outdoor stages of EXPO, distribute promotional documents about Hue tourism to visitors...
Also at the event, the Deputy General Representative of Vietnam at EXPO 2025 announced a specially produced video clip, which will be shown on the big screen outside the Exhibition Hall during major national holidays such as April 30, September 2, Uncle Ho's birthday...
With the vibrant colors of the Vietnam Exhibition House's identity and inspiration from the illustration style of artist Ta Huy Long, the video introduces Vietnam's historical landmarks, associated with major events of the nation, the capital Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City..., and is expected to contribute to introducing to international friends a milestone year 2025 with a series of important commemorative events of the country.
In addition, from May 23-25, the Exhibition House in coordination with the Presidential Palace Relic Site will organize a photo and document exhibition about President Ho Chi Minh called "President Ho Chi Minh - Symbol of the Era" at EXPO 2025.
Mr. Tran Nhat Hoang emphasized that EXPO 2025 is a great opportunity to promote the country as well as contribute its voice to the common development of the world in the future. This is an opportunity for the Vietnam Exhibition House to introduce a new Vietnam with inclusive and comprehensive development, in which people are the center.
Mr. Tran Nhat Hoang expressed his wish that the Vietnam Exhibition House would contribute a Vietnamese voice to the world about a model of inclusive and sustainable future development of the country. Each object on display as well as each painting and each story conveys a message that in the development of the future, humans are always the central character to move towards a more comfortable, better and more sustainable life.
Mr. Tran Nhat Hoang emphasized that in that common development, Vietnam will demonstrate itself as a responsible and active member of the international community.
Mr. Tran Nhat Hoang affirmed that the Vietnam Exhibition House is to share the cultural values of Vietnam with the world, together developing harmoniously with the world in terms of culture and society. This country and the world accompany each other in a green future, a more sustainable future and for a better future society.
Ms. Toshiko Nakano, Osaka Councilor, said that the relationship between Vietnam and Japan is in a very good development stage. Therefore, when entering the Vietnam Exhibition Hall in Osaka, she felt very familiar and close. Ms. Nakano said that for Japanese people who have not had the opportunity to travel to Vietnam, the Vietnam Exhibition Hall at EXPO 2025 is a way to learn about Vietnam that is very close to Japan.
Two young people, Brad and Emma, from the American Exhibition House, expressed their excitement when visiting the Vietnam Exhibition House at EXPO 2025 because they learned more about the history and development of Vietnam.
Brad was particularly impressed with the traditional art form of water puppetry. Emma expressed her excitement at wearing the traditional Vietnamese ao dai because according to Emma, it is a beautiful style of clothing, with bright colors and very comfortable to wear.
Within the framework of the activities of the Vietnam House, there are also traditional art performances, water puppetry combined with interactive activities held daily.
Vietnam Exhibition House continuously coordinates with ministries, branches, localities and enterprises to organize events to promote and introduce the economy, society, and investment cooperation potential of Vietnam and localities to international partners through a series of events and investment promotion programs with monthly themes.
It is expected that Vietnam National Day at EXPO 2025 will be held on September 9 this year with many attractive activities honoring Vietnamese culture, country and people./.
