Southeast Asian champion crowned king of pickleball tournament Dan Tri

(Dan Tri) - Two athletes, Si Boi Ngoc and Tran Huyen Trang, won the Open women's doubles championship at the "Dan Tri 20 - Bright New Day" pickleball tournament with convincing victories.

In the final match of the women's doubles Open pickleball tournament "Dan Tri 20 years - New brilliant day" which took place on the evening of July 5, the two athletes Si Boi Ngoc and Tran Huyen Trang easily defeated the pair Ngoc Be and Ngoc Tho (full names Nguyen Minh Ngoc and Tran Tue Ngoc) with a score of 15-5 to win the championship of the tournament.

Notably, the couple Ngoc Be (born in 2008) and Ngoc Tho (born in 2007) made a strong impression in the tournament when they entered the final with extremely dramatic victories in the quarter-finals and semi-finals against opponents who were rated higher.

However, the two were unable to overcome the experienced and courageous Si Boi Ngoc and Tran Huyen Trang. Sharing after the victory, Si Boi Ngoc said she was very impressed with the two young female athletes and thought that her victory was not easy despite the big difference in score.

The tournament is professional in terms of medical care, competition hours, dedicated referee team and the support of very modern VAR technology," athlete Si Boi Ngoc expressed.

Notably, athlete Si Boi Ngoc flew a long way from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi to participate in the tournament.

"I accepted the invitation from Huyen Trang to participate in this tournament. Any championship brings great joy, but winning the Dan Tri pickleball tournament is very meaningful because the tournament has a very humane purpose of using all athlete fees to support the construction of 5 charity houses for people in difficult circumstances," the female athlete born in 1996 added.

Athlete Si Boi Ngoc also revealed that she has won many domestic and international tournaments, the most recent of which was the women's doubles championship at the Malaysian Open Pickleball Tournament held in Malaysia at the end of May, defeating many strong opponents in Southeast Asia.

In addition, Boi Ngoc also won the women's doubles 7.5 event held in Dong Nai , the mixed doubles Open championship of VPC, and the bronze medal at the 2025 national pickleball championship...

Meanwhile, athlete Tran Huyen Trang (born in 1985), who is a lecturer at Bac Ninh University of Sports, also expressed her happiness when winning the noble title at the Dan Tri newspaper pickleball tournament.

"Before the tournament, I promised that if I won the Open women's doubles, after sharing the prize money with Boi Ngoc, I would give half of my prize money to support people in difficult circumstances through the Dan Tri Newspaper Charity Fund.

I would also be very happy to join Dan Tri in inaugurating 5 charity houses from the tournament's support. This is a very meaningful tournament with a very humane goal, and my whole family of 4 people are participating in this tournament," athlete Huyen Trang expressed.
