Regarding the case of the Vice Principal of An Thanh Secondary School (Van Duc Commune, Gia Lai Province) being accused of abusing power and behaving in a manner that lacked pedagogical standards, on November 4, the leader of the People's Committee of Van Duc Commune said that he was verifying and resolving the complaints of teachers and citizens.
According to the leader of Van Duc commune, 8 teachers submitted a petition to complain that Mr. Pham Minh Trung, Vice Principal of An Thanh Secondary School, abused his power, violated students' rights, and behaved inappropriately towards teachers.

"Due to the large number of complaints and the large amount of documents that need to be collected, we need more time to verify and clarify the contents, ensuring objective and correct handling," the leader of Van Duc Commune People's Committee informed, adding that an initial report had been sent to the provincial Department of Education and Training.
Previously, on the afternoon of October 27, the inspection team led by Mr. Ho Gia Dinh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Van Duc commune, worked with the Board of Directors of An Thanh Secondary School to record feedback related to management work.
As of October 29, the working group received 4 complaints with documents from 4 teachers, but there has been no explanatory report from the Principal and Vice Principal.
The verification team also worked with Mr. NNQ (a local citizen who filed a complaint) and 8 teachers related to the incident that occurred on October 2 to collect additional documents and evidence to serve the verification work.
According to parents' feedback, at around 1:50 p.m. on October 2, when students in classes 8A3 and 9A1 were in their first period, Mr. Pham Minh Trung entered the classroom and asked the teacher to stop the lesson so the students could go out to the yard to clean up.
The reason given by Mr. Trung was that the morning cleaning area of these two classes still had trash and leaves, so it needed to be cleaned up. He asked the teachers of the two classes to make up for the missed class on the morning of October 6, because he believed that the school had the right to adjust the teaching schedule when teachers and students did not meet the requirements to attend class.
Parents also reported that when the 6A1 students were studying natural science taught by Ms. Hoang Thi Bich Hanh, Mr. Trung entered the classroom to check the lesson plan and equipment. When he discovered that there was a lack of equipment, Mr. Trung loudly yelled and demanded that Ms. Hanh stop the lesson and go to the office.
Many parents believe that Mr. Trung's act of stopping class and forcing students to sweep the yard in the midday sun is unacceptable, affects the students' right to study, and shows signs of abuse of power and violation of teacher ethics.
Mr. Pham Minh Trung denied the above reflection and said that he only reminded teachers and students to practice good hygiene, without yelling or having any personal motives.
