A week after a shocking and painful defeat in the Premier League title race, Nottingham Forest will be looking to make amends for recent mistakes when they host Brighton & Hove Albion at the City Ground next Saturday.
Nuno Espirito Santo's side suffered a crushing 5-0 defeat to an impressive Bournemouth in the 23rd round. Meanwhile, their opponents, Brighton & Hove Albion, also suffered a disappointing result when they lost 0-1 at home to David Moyes' Everton.
Latest Nottingham vs Brighton team information
While there is no excuse for Forest’s poor performance at Bournemouth, Callum Hudson-Odoi’s absence with a groin injury has certainly hurt the team, with fans now waiting with bated breath for news on whether he will be fit to play on Saturday.
Hudson-Odoi is still not ruled out of this game and will certainly replace Jota Silva in the wing-back position if given the green light by the doctor. However, Ibrahim Sangare, who has been out for a long time with a hamstring injury, is expected to remain out.
Coach Santo is unlikely to make any major changes to his starting line-up despite his side's disastrous performance last weekend. However, captain Ryan Yates only lasted the first half at the Vitality Stadium, so Nicolas Dominguez is likely to be recalled.
As for Brighton, the team did not record any further injuries after the narrow defeat to Everton. However, Pervis Estupinan was surprisingly absent for an undisclosed reason, and coach Hurzeler has yet to provide further information on the player's situation.
While they await an update on the left-back situation, Brighton will definitely be without Jason Steele (shoulder), Igor Julio (hamstring), Ferdi Kadioglu (toe), James Milner (thigh), Mats Wieffer (thigh), Solly March (muscle) and Evan Ferguson – who could leave on loan before the end of the transfer window.
Hurzeler was also reluctant to make a change at half-time in the last game, with Brajan Gruda replaced by Georginio Rutter – one of three strikers vying to return to the squad on Saturday, along with Simon Adingra and Yankuba Minteh.

Latest Nottingham vs Brighton football review
An intriguing clash between two unlikely Premier League sides promised to deliver a thrilling spectacle last weekend, and few were surprised to learn that five goals were scored at the Vitality Stadium as Forest and Bournemouth went head-to-head.
However, even the most loyal Bournemouth fans would have found it hard to predict that their team would thrash Forest 5-0 without conceding a goal on the counter. The game on the south coast saw Dango Ouattara score a hat-trick, with Justin Kluivert and Antoine Semenyo also getting on the scoresheet, forcing goalkeeper Matz Sels to pick the ball out of the net.
Forest’s disastrous defeat came just as observers were beginning to regard them as genuine Premier League title contenders. However, Santo’s side, currently third, are not yet mathematically out of the woods, despite Liverpool’s nine-point lead and a game in hand.
Just finishing in the top four and bringing the Champions League to the City Ground would be an incredible feat for Forest. A heavy defeat on Matchday 23 ended their nine-match unbeaten run in all competitions, but it is at home that they truly show their strength.
Indeed, Garibaldi have won five and drawn one of their last six home games at the City Ground – failing to beat Liverpool in that time. Furthermore, they have suffered back-to-back defeats just once this Premier League season.
Brighton & Hove Albion are also feeling the effects of their long unbeaten run coming to an end. They had hoped to extend their unbeaten run to eight games in all competitions when they hosted Everton at the Amex last weekend, but the game ended in frustration and anger for Fabian Hurzeler's side.
An Iliman Ndiaye penalty in the final minutes of the first half gave Moyes' side the win, with the game ending in a brawl between the two teams as Brighton players struggled to contain their emotions, although not to the same degree as the game against Forest a few months ago.
Brighton are still in the hunt for a European place, though, sitting ninth in the mid-season table – just six points off the top six. After being held at home, an away game on Saturday could be just what Brighton need.
Since their big win over Norwich City in the FA Cup, Brighton have won each of their last three away games and are unbeaten in six. Furthermore, Hurzeler’s side have yet to go an away game without scoring this season, finding the back of the net in 14 consecutive games away from the Amex.
The City Ground was also the scene of Brighton’s dramatic 3-2 win last season, but Forest left the south coast with a point after a tense 2-2 draw in September, which saw both managers and Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White sent off in the final minutes.
