Nhan My School celebrates 20 years: Spreading the quintessence of Han Nom and honoring Vietnamese ethics

(CLO) On November 16, the 20th anniversary celebration of the establishment of Nhan My School and the 2025 Han Mac Calligraphy Exhibition opened at Thai Hoc Area (Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam).

Nhan My School is a Han Nom and Calligraphy training facility initiated and founded by Pastor - Dr. Le Trung Kien in 2005 in Hanoi . Nhan My School organizes Han Nom and Calligraphy classes with the aim of preserving, conserving and promoting the traditional cultural and ethical values ​​of the nation.

Originally a class in a pagoda, Nhan My School has grown day by day, regularly maintaining Han Nom, Calligraphy and some Advanced classes at three main training facilities located at Cot Pagoda, Nhan My Pagoda and Me Tri Thuong Pagoda (Hanoi).

The team of lecturers and instructors are people with solid professional expertise, exemplary personality, pure ethics and enthusiasm for the career of education and training.

Speaking at the ceremony, Professor Xuan Nhu (Vu Thanh Tung) - Chairman of the Executive Board of Nhan My School, Head of the Organizing Committee, said that at today's 20th anniversary ceremony, Nhan My School also organized the 13th annual Han Mac Calligraphy Exhibition, taking the motto "Teaching and Learning for Growth" as the theme. Four simple words, but with profound meaning: The teacher guides with the path, the student advances with learning - that is teaching; The student asks and the teacher thinks, the teacher speaks and the student understands - that is learning; The teacher and student interact, the principles are born by themselves, the teaching and learning are self-illuminated - that is mutual growth.

Over the past 20 years, Nhan My School has opened 19 free Han Nom - Calligraphy classes, 15 Khai Thu Calligraphy courses and 4 advanced classes, attracting about 4,500 students. The classes help students learn, practice and develop skills to serve the preservation and promotion of cultural values ​​through teaching Han Nom characters, calligraphy, translation, researching and describing posthumous documents, compiling parallel sentences, horizontal lacquered boards, steles and heritage consulting.

In addition to training and research activities to promote the value of national cultural heritage, Nhan My School also cooperates with the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam to organize calligraphy examinations, annual Spring Calligraphy Festivals, Thang Long - Hanoi calligraphy exhibitions, reenactment of imperial examination ceremonies and many seminars on Han Nom and calligraphy. The two units signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation since 2020.

Within the framework of the ceremony, the 13th Han Mac Exhibition in 2025 takes place from November 16 to November 21, 2025. The exhibition is one of the activities to preserve and promote traditional cultural heritages, organized annually by Nhan My School.

The exhibition selected 200 brush and iron pen calligraphy works from more than 400 students of the School, showing the content of Han Nom literary works by Vietnamese authors from the ancient medieval period to modern times; at the same time, reflecting the systematic calligraphy training roadmap through the stages of modelling, practicing characters, and printing cards.

Over two decades of perseverance, Nhan My School has not only affirmed its role as a prestigious Han Nom and Calligraphy training institution, but also become a bridge bringing the traditional literary and academic heritage closer to the community.
