According to the reorganization plan of the People's Committee of Nong Son district, the entire natural area and population of Son Vien commune will be merged into Que Loc commune to form a new administrative unit.
After the reorganization, the new commune administrative unit meets both standards regarding natural area and population size as stipulated in Resolution No. 1211 dated May 25, 2016, of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly . Specifically, the new commune administrative unit has a natural area of 126.6% and a population size of 193.48% compared to the standards.
The aforementioned merger plan received high approval from voters in Que Loc commune with a rate of 99.4% and from voters in Son Vien commune with a rate of 99.61%.
