Lots of emotions with Dear Ghibli, My Friend

The Imagine Philharmonic Orchestra (IPO) recently held the music night Dear Ghibli, my friend at Hoa Binh Theater, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City, invested in and performed by conductor Dustin Tieu.

This is the largest-ever Studio Ghibli symphonic concert series.

Through music , the audience took turns meeting the wizard Howl and his floating castle on the vast grasslands or looking back at Chihiro's journey in Spirited Away and the mysterious creatures that appeared with each piano key. The symphony concert music made the memories appear so clearly, where the violin evoked the image of the witch Kiki riding her broom flying far away in the middle of a cloudless afternoon in Koriko city; the adventures of the two sisters Satsuki and Mei with the mascot Totoro, along with countless interesting things. In addition, on stage, the action scene of Princess Mononoke was recreated with the high and low music of brass, drums... helping the audience feel the liveliness of a very Ghibli space - the wonderful delicacy of childhood.

Along with the soaring musical tones of conductor Dustin Tieu and the young orchestra, the space of Hoa Binh Theater was carefully staged and created by young female director Hoang Tran Minh Duc and stage designer Le Ngoc Quoc Bao, creating a magical, unique fairy space with lighting effects.
