Many policies to attract excellent scientists of VNU

Implementing the National Strategy on attracting and employing talents to 2030, with a vision to 2050 approved under Decision No. 899/QD-TTg dated July 31, 2023 of the Prime Minister; Pursuant to Circular No. 05/2023/TT-BKHCN dated May 22, 2023 of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) detailing a number of contents on attracting, using and employing individuals working in science and technology and operational needs, VNU implements a policy to attract outstanding scientists.

Accordingly, the target group is scientists with excellent research achievements, both at home and abroad (including Vietnamese people living abroad and foreigners), who wish to participate in scientific research, take on strong research group leader positions in the fields of science and technology that VNU Hanoi prioritizes research.

Benefits include preferential regimes according to regulations of the State and VNU Hanoi ; priority in using facilities and equipment shared by the school; guaranteed working conditions, equipment and implementation of policies and mechanisms according to agreements to promote Vietnam's leading science and technology fields.

In particular, scientists are invested with funding to carry out scientific and technological tasks from 3 billion VND in 3 years and are proposed to invest in capacity building to develop strong research groups.

Regarding the form of work, VNU Hanoi signs a work contract/labor contract/professional outsourcing contract. Depending on the form of contract, scientists can actively work at VNU Hanoi, domestically and abroad.

40 prioritized specialized research directions

VNU-Hanoi also announced a list of more than 40 research directions in priority areas of expertise as follows: Information and computational science and technology, including computer science, data science, mathematics, electrical engineering, computer science and engineering, and AI technology.

The fields of materials and energy science and technology include: Electronic engineering, solid state physics, materials science, mechanical engineering, mechanical/electronic engineering, robotics and healthcare devices, biomedical materials, medical imaging technology, chips and microcircuits, semiconductors.

The fields of life science and technology include: Drug analysis, chemistry of natural products, molecular biology/biochemistry, natural medicine research, health sciences, food science, enzyme and protein technology, process engineering, manufacturing engineering, agricultural engineering, digital agriculture.

The field of earth and environmental science and technology includes: Natural resource assessment, environmental monitoring, warning and protection, natural disaster forecasting, new energy and renewable energy, climate change.

The fields of management and economics include: Management/economics, econometrics, innovation research, industrial engineering.

The field of social and behavioral sciences includes: Vietnam in the contemporary regional and international context, national sovereignty protection, national defense and security, policy advice, regional and international relations, and Vietnam's position.

The field of humanities and arts includes: Preserving and developing cultural heritage, integrating world culture, exploiting and promoting tourism potential, development consulting, creative science...

In addition, Hanoi National University also opens other scientific fields according to scientists' proposals./.
