Students of Ho Chi Minh City National University are supported with preferential loans to study in the first semester of the 2024-2025 school year with 0% interest rate.
The Ho Chi Minh City National University Development Fund has coordinated with banks to implement a 0% interest rate loan program for students for the 2024-2025 school year. Accordingly, students can borrow a maximum amount equal to the tuition fee for the first semester of this school year but not exceeding 20 million VND.
Loan conditions include: Full-time students with a first degree; Commitment to graduate within the prescribed time of the course (excluding the time allowed for extension); Not having taken out loans from other credit institutions; Having difficult circumstances.
The loan term is calculated from the date the student receives the first loan until the date of full repayment of principal and interest (if any). The student must repay the principal for the first time immediately after having a job and income, but no later than 12 months from the date the student finishes the course (including cases where he/she does not have a stable job). The maximum loan term is 8 years.
The 0% interest student loan program is implemented by the Ho Chi Minh City National University Development Fund in collaboration with the bank. The bank is the direct lender to students, the fund guarantees the loans and pays interest to students from the funding source of the enterprise. After 4 years of implementation, the total number of students approved for loan support is 320 people.

The University of Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University) has also implemented a loan guarantee program and interest support for students in paying tuition fees for the 2024-2025 school year through the Phu Tho - Bach Khoa Alumni Community Representative Board.
Accordingly, Vietcombank is a bank that lends at 0% interest. The borrowers are new students studying at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. The loan amount is based on the school's tuition fees and is disbursed for each semester. The repayment period is 2 years from the time of disbursement, each semester is reviewed once based on the student's academic performance. Students are obliged to repay the loan within 30 days if they decide to drop out of school even before the deadline. Students can also repay the loan ahead of schedule.
Loan guarantee conditions for new students admitted to the 2024 course include: having completed confirmation of enrollment at the Ministry of Education and Training system; Average score of grades 10, 11, 12 from 6.5 or higher; Conduct in grades 10, 11, 12 is good; Have a clear loan repayment plan; Have not borrowed from other credit institutions; Priority is given to students with difficult circumstances.
Notably, the program also stipulates conditions for students to convert loans into scholarships. Accordingly, students with academic results from 8/10 or 3.2/4.0 and training from 90/100 during the loan guarantee period will be considered for scholarships from 50-100% of the loan depending on the student's circumstances, efforts and the program's budget.
Can borrow money to pay tuition
Also at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, the Polytechnic student support fund also has a regular program to support students with difficult circumstances to borrow money to pay tuition fees during their time studying at the school. Those with difficult circumstances who have not been able to borrow capital from the local social policy bank can borrow a maximum amount equal to the semester tuition fee but not exceeding 10 million VND/semester (0% interest rate).
Under the program, students are only allowed to borrow while they are studying at the school from the 2nd to the 8th semester and are allowed to borrow for no more than 4 semesters during their time at the school. Students receiving support are responsible for repaying the borrowed tuition during their time at the school or up to 1 year after graduation.
