Many new faces in the film script review and selection board

Accordingly, the Central Council for the appraisal and selection of feature film scripts for the 2025-2027 term was established, including Mr. Dang Tran Cuong, Director of the Department of Cinema, as Chairman; Ms. Ly Phuong Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Cinema, as Vice Chairman.

The Council gathered many prestigious filmmakers, screenwriters and writers: Meritorious Artist Tran Trung Dung, Head of the Art Department, Department of Cinema; screenwriter Bang Mai Phuong; Writer Nguyen Thi Thu Hue, Director of the Vietnam Literature Museum; director Dinh Tuan Vu; director Nguyen Quang Dung; writer Do Bich Thuy and writer Vo Thi Xuan Ha.

The Central Council for the review and selection of animated film scripts for the 2025-2027 term was assigned to Mr. Dang Tran Cuong to continue as Chairman. The Vice Chairman is Mr. Do Quoc Viet, Deputy Director of the Department of Cinema. Members include: Animation director Nguyen Quang Trung; Director, artist, Meritorious Artist Le Binh; Director, People's Artist Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa; Lecturer Phan Thuy Dieu; Tran Van Uoc, Specialist of the Department of Cinema's Art Department, and Secretary of the Council.

On the same day, according to Decision No. 1102/QD-BVHTTDL, the Council for evaluating dossiers requesting a license to provide filming services using settings in Vietnam for a new term was also established.

The councils are responsible for reading, evaluating and assessing scripts or documents to ensure professional quality and effectively manage film projects using the state budget as well as filming activities of foreign organizations and individuals in Vietnam.
