Many testing departments of Da Nang Hospital meet ISO 15189:2012 standards

Da Nang Hospital has just held a Ceremony to announce the Decision and receive ISO 15189:2012 Certificate for 3 departments: Biochemistry, Hematology - Blood Transfusion, Microbiology, Da Nang Hospital.

ISO 15189 is an international standard that specifies the specific quality and competence requirements for medical laboratories. This is the first internationally agreed standard for medical laboratory practice, aiming to enable laboratories to organize effective operating procedures, meet the needs of patients as well as safety standards during testing.

ISO 15189 builds on the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 9001, and adds specific requirements for quality assurance in the medical testing field.

ISO 15189:2012 includes 15 management requirements and 10 technical requirements related to quality assurance in testing activities.

By achieving ISO 15189 accreditation, clinical laboratories are objectively demonstrated and recognized that: the laboratory has the necessary quality and technical competence, with accurate tests, controlled processes and meets technical requirements to ensure clinical diagnostic information, establishing trust between society, patients, physicians and laboratory services.

The Board of Directors of Da Nang Hospital congratulates the Testing Departments for achieving ISO 15189:2012 standards.

According to Dr. Le Duc Nhan, Director of Da Nang Hospital, managing the quality of testing according to ISO 15189:2012 helps ensure the provision of fast and accurate test results, which is a reliable basis for doctors when providing the most effective treatment methods for patients, contributing to improving the quality of medical examination and treatment at Da Nang Hospital. In addition, it minimizes the error rate and shortens the waiting time for results.

This is also the basis for promoting the connection of test results between medical facilities. Patients do not need to repeat the test when transferring hospitals, transferring lines or even when needing consultation with other countries. This helps save costs, shorten time and bring high-quality testing services to patients. This is in line with the spirit of the Government and the trend of integration with the world.
