Informing reporters, Ms. NPT, residing in Quarter 7, Ward 2, Dong Ha City, said that she had just gone through a sleepless night when she continuously received calls from midnight to 3 a.m. When Ms. T. picked up the phone, no one answered on the other end. After putting her phone in airplane mode, the calls stopped. However, the next morning, when the phone was put back in normal mode, the "terrorist" calls continued, leaving Ms. T. at a loss for what to do. "I tried blocking the strange numbers calling. However, they called from too many numbers. I couldn't block them all," Ms. T. said.

According to Ms. T., a year ago, she herself encountered a similar situation when an acquaintance was said to be involved in a certain loan. At that time, not only she but also many colleagues were "terrorized" by phone calls, day and night. Not only calls, she and her colleagues also received text messages with requests and threats. "This time, the number of calls was higher. On average, every few minutes, I received a call from a strange number. I didn't know why and how to solve it," Ms. T. said.

Like Ms. T., Ms. BTO, residing in Dong Ha City, also fell into a similar situation. The "terrorist" calls continuously rang for many days, making her very stressed and tired. However, she could not turn off the phone because she was afraid of missing other necessary calls related to work and family. In the end, with no other choice, Ms. O. had to change her phone number.

Not only Ms. T. and Ms. O., recently, the persistent annoying phone calls, even to the point of “terrorizing” the phone as above, have affected the lives of many people in the area. It is worth mentioning that most of the people who are “terrorized” by the phone do not understand the reason why. They themselves do not know how to solve this situation. Therefore, the confusion and anxiety increase.

Speaking to reporters, Lieutenant Colonel Phan Xuan Chi, Head of the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention of the Provincial Police, said that the unit has received many reports from people about the above situation and has provided specific feedback and recommendations. If the harassment persists, even to the point of being "terrorized" by phone, people can report to the nearest police agency for timely handling. "People absolutely do not provide personal information to callers such as: information about personal documents, family relationships, colleagues, friends, workplace, residence...", Lieutenant Colonel Chi advised.
