Since early morning of September 18, heavy rain has been falling in Da Nang city, causing many streets in Da Nang to be flooded, making it difficult for people to travel.
According to the reporter's records, from the early morning of September 18, heavy rain appeared over a large area in Da Nang. By about 7 am of the same day, many streets in Da Nang were flooded.
The rain came at a time when many students and parents were taking their children to school, causing some traffic jams. Some motorcyclists were forced to ride along the sidewalks instead of on the road.
Heavy rain limited visibility for passersby.
According to records, the area of Nui Thanh Street in front of the City People's Court and the High People's Court in Da Nang is flooded quite heavily.
Many streets are flooded quite heavily, at the intersection of 30-4 Street and in front of the City People's Court, there is a section where the water reaches half the motorbike wheel.
In Lien Chieu district, streets such as Ton Duc Thang, Nguyen Luong Bang, and Bac Son were flooded up to half a wheel, and low-lying areas were heavily flooded.
Many motorbikes had to struggle to get through the flooded sections.
In many places, people have to collect trash in the sewers to help the water drain faster.
In the past 6 hours (from 0:00 - 6:00 on September 18), there has been light to moderate rain in Da Nang city, heavy rain in some places. Total rainfall in some places is as follows: Hoa Khe: 27.2mm, Thac Gian Lake: 27.8mm, Irrigation Sub-Department: 30.6mm. Water levels on Vu Gia River and Cam Le River are fluctuating and at low levels.
In the next 2-3 hours, there is a risk of flooding on roads and low-lying areas. Flooding is likely to occur from now until 10:00 on September 18. The maximum depth of flooding is from 0.05 - 0.30m, deeper in some places.
According to the Central Central Hydrometeorological Station, due to the influence of a tropical depression, from September 18 to 20, the North and Central Central regions will have heavy to very heavy rain, with common rainfall from 100-300mm, locally over 500mm.
