Want to spread environmental protection awareness to future generations
This is not only a scientific research but also a journey to inspire, change living habits and build sustainable thinking for students and future pupils.
The topic is not simply a scientific research project but also a voice of responsibility and aspiration of young people to contribute to global environmental issues. Do Bao Ngoc said: "In the context of increasingly serious climate change and environmental pollution, equipping pedagogical students with green skills is considered extremely important to spread environmental protection awareness to future generations. Current awareness is still limited, most students have not had full access to green skills, leading to a lack of awareness and practical actions related to sustainable development. Based on this situation, the group was determined to analyze in depth and build initiatives to transform awareness into practical actions."
A group of students from the Faculty ofEducational Management, Hanoi National University of Education, wishes to change living habits and build sustainable thinking for students and future pupils.
For students majoring in education, green skills are not only supplementary knowledge but also the foundation for personality formation and career thinking. Dang Huyen Trang emphasized that green skills help students build a responsible personality, sustainable career thinking and know how to behave appropriately with nature as well as the community.
"These are essential qualities for future teachers. At the same time, green skills inspire innovation, encouraging students to incorporate environmental factors and sustainable development into their teaching activities. As a result, they can become inspirational educators, contributing to forming awareness of protecting the green planet in the student generation," Huyen Trang shared.
The highlight of the topic is the practical initiatives, not too far-fetched but originating from small actions but having great influence. One of them is "Optimizing trash cans - Changing behavior, spreading lifestyle". This initiative not only focuses on the physical design of trash cans but more importantly, impacts students' awareness and habits of trash classification. Placing trash cans in the right place, with visual instructions and accompanying communication, has helped trash disposal become a purposeful and deeply educational behavior.
In addition, the "Green Education - Knowledge and Action" learning group creates a learning space that combines environmental knowledge and practice, where students both research environmental issues and organize green education activities, contributing to improving community organization and advocacy skills.
Creating a generation of global citizens who solve environmental problems
Not only the students themselves, the topic also has a profound impact on high school students - the subjects that you will directly teach in the future. Nguyen Thanh Huyen believes that teachers with green skills will inspire and help students form green living habits from an early age, develop critical thinking and a sense of responsibility for the environment. Students educated under the guidance of "green teachers" will become active citizens, spreading the message of protecting nature to their families, friends and society. Thereby, contributing to creating a generation of global citizens with the ability to be creative and solve local and international environmental problems.
According to a group of students from the University of Education, a green living message properly conveyed can follow students throughout their lives.
With great aspirations, the group of students from the Department of Education not only wants the topic to be a local research project but also cherishes the idea of expanding and spreading the green spirit to the entire network of pedagogical schools nationwide. Nguyen Thi Thuy Giang shared her wish that the research results will be disseminated through seminars, student forums, and inter-school discussions to exchange experiences and effective models. Developing guidance documents and handbooks on green skills practice specifically for pedagogical students is also one of the important goals. Student clubs and Youth Union organizations are expected to be the core force in organizing communication campaigns and extracurricular activities to raise awareness and change green living behaviors in the community.
In addition, the group also hopes that green skills development content will be integrated into official training programs such as soft skills, environmental education or civic education to ensure more sustainable and profound effectiveness in training future generations of teachers.
What makes the research group's strength and emotion lies in the sincere message they want to send to the student community, especially young people who are starting to care about sustainable education and the environment. Dang Huyen Trang affirmed: "To have a forest in the future, let's sow the seeds today."
This message is not only a call to action but also a reminder of the responsibility of the younger generation – those who will sow knowledge, thoughts and green living attitudes for the next generations. Environmental protection is not something far-fetched but starts with the smallest things such as saving energy, sorting garbage, and living in harmony with nature. A lecture may end after 45 minutes but a green living message properly conveyed can follow students throughout their lives. Today's seeds are the foundation for a sustainable green forest tomorrow.
