On the evening of September 3, at the Opera House ( Hanoi ), the program Proud Melody took place to celebrate Vietnam Music Day and honor typical musical works in the 50 years since the country's reunification (1975-2025).
This is an event organized by the Vietnam Musicians Association to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, and Vietnam Music Day September 3.

Speaking at the program, Major General, musician Nguyen Duc Trinh - Chairman of the Vietnam Musicians Association - emphasized that, in the 80-year journey of pride, our country had the spring of 1975 as a special milestone in the history of Vietnam's revolutionary struggle.
After many years of separation due to foreign invasion, the burning desire of the entire people has come true, from now on our country has returned to one strip, a unified Vietnam.
The President of the Vietnam Musicians Association said that since the time the song "As if there were Uncle Ho on the great victory day " by musician Pham Tuyen was broadcast on the Voice of Vietnam radio on April 30, 1975, over the past 50 years, there have been tens of thousands of songs written by generations of Vietnamese musicians about the great historical event of our nation: the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country.
"With surging emotions and sincere hearts, the musicians wrote works that vividly and richly reflect the lives of our people after the war years.
At the same time, we praise the heroic tradition of the nation, praise the homeland that is renewing every day, praise and show gratitude to the heroic martyrs, and praise love between couples," he said.
According to Mr. Trinh, the Vietnam Musicians Association organizes to honor, promote and affirm the great values of typical musical works in particular and the contributions of revolutionary music in general on the occasion of summarizing 50 years of Vietnamese music after the country's reunification.
He added: "From the voting results of the Vietnamese Musicians Associations nationwide, the Organizing Committee has selected 50 typical songs and 5 typical instrumental and musical works to honor on Vietnam Music Day this year. This is a festival to honor Vietnamese music, converging and spreading the best things to everyone."
At the event, the audience enjoyed musical performances directed and directed by musician Nguyen Duc Trinh, bringing together many famous artists such as: People's Artist Quoc Hung, People's Artist Duc Long, Ngo Huong Diep, Minh Toi, Tung Lam, Trinh Phuong, Duong Duc, Hoang Anh, Nhat Huyen, Thu Thuy, Thu Ba...
The audience was immersed in a musical space with passionate, profound and majestic emotions about beloved Uncle Ho, homeland, country, love, through songs that have been with us for years such as: Melody of the Fatherland, Flowers in Uncle Ho's Garden, Spring Melody, Country, Love of the Red Land of the East, Fatherland Calls Me, As if Uncle Ho were here on the day of great victory ...
Also at the program, the Organizing Committee announced and awarded certificates of honor to musical works and 5 typical instrumental and musical works in the 50 years after the country's reunification.

Among them, the song "As if Uncle Ho were with us on the great victory day " by musician Pham Tuyen is also one of the 50 works honored this time.
The song " As if Uncle Ho were here on the day of great victory" was completed by Pham Tuyen on the night of April 28, 1975, and first broadcast on Voice of Vietnam Radio on April 30, 1975.
Just two days after the victory, the song was published in Nhan Dan newspaper on May 2, 1975. Newspapers carried the song to all provinces, gradually becoming familiar to audiences across the country.
Notably, the song This Earth is Ours (music by Truong Quang Luc, poem by Dinh Hai) is the only children's song in the top 50 most typical songs after the country's reunification.
The song has a cheerful and innocent melody, expressing love for the earth and the spirit of solidarity of children around the world, thereby sending a message of peace and equality among nations.
Accordingly, This Earth is Ours is a work composed by musician Truong Quang to respond to the contest to compose new songs for children, launched by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the Vietnam International Children's Year Committee.
This song was released in 1979, with 6 verses but is a familiar melody to many generations of Vietnamese children.
