King Charles III's coronation will take place on May 6 at Westminster Abbey. Charles ascended the throne in September last year after the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
Preparations for the Coronation are in full swing across the UK, with many impressive images. This is the first Royal Coronation to be held in the “foggy country” since 1953.
King Charles III hosted a garden party at Buckingham Palace on May 3 to welcome guests who will attend the coronation, including soul icon Lionel Richie and his longtime girlfriend Lisa Parigi.
On May 4, Prince William and Princess Kate went to a London pub called the Dog & Duck to discuss plans for the Coronation.
The Prince and Princess of Wales stopped and spoke to a crowd of royal fans gathered outside the pub in Soho – a bustling area in central London. Kate even patted a furry friend before leaving.
Huge art installations can be found across Britain ahead of the Coronation. Pictured are the Scottish unicorn and the English lion flanking the coronation coat of arms of King Charles III.
As Big Ben counted down to the coronation, the famous landmark was lit up with the UK's national flower.
Royal fans have begun camping out 24 hours ahead of the ceremony. Tents have been decorated with flags and pictures of King Charles.
Royal fans camped out on The Mall in central London on May 4, two days before the Coronation.
Installations have been erected across the country to commemorate the occasion. This is a replica of the St Edward's Crown, which will be worn at the coronation of King Charles III. The British monarch will only wear the St Edward's Crown once, during the Coronation Ceremony at Westminster Abbey, and will then change to the Royal State Crown upon returning to Buckingham Palace.
British artists have also taken to the streets to honour the King ahead of the coronation. Artist Julian Beaver painted a giant portrait of King Charles on a London pavement to mark the occasion.
The Royal Family has revealed some of the smaller details of the ceremony, such as the uniforms the servicemen will wear during the ceremony.
The uniform is royal red and decorated with gold details. On the shoulders is the British Royal Coat of Arms, consisting of two interlocking letters C and R and a crown.
Some royal fans have flown into London from other countries to attend the royal event. Donna Werner, an American citizen, camped outside a shopping center near Buckingham Palace with a handmade hat to honor the King and celebrate the coronation.
More than 120 different types of flowers were grown by British farmers to decorate the ceremony. Mr. Shane Connolly – who was in charge of the flowers for Charles and Camilla's wedding in 2005 and William and Kate's wedding in 2011 – was in charge of the floral arrangements at Westminster Abbey ahead of the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
