Kinhtedothi - On the morning of January 1, 2025, in Vung Tau city, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, the Naval Region 2 Command organized 2 ships carrying delegations to inspect combat readiness, visit and wish a happy new year to officers and soldiers on DK1 platforms, duty ships, and Radar Station 590.
Colonel Tran Manh Chien, Political Commissar of Naval Region 2, came to see off the two working delegations.
Colonel Do Hong Duyen, Deputy Political Commissar of Naval Region 2, presided over the assignment of tasks and saw off the two working delegations.
Also participating in the farewell ceremony were comrades in the Party Committee, the Regional Command, along with a large number of officers and soldiers of Naval Region 2 and relatives of the officers and soldiers.
The working delegation visited, inspected, and extended New Year greetings to DK1 platforms, Station 590, duty ships, and civil and party agencies of Con Dao district, led by Colonel Do Hong Duyen, Deputy Political Commissar of Region 2, along with representatives of the agencies: Staff, Politics , Logistics - Engineering of Region 2, and 47 delegates and reporters from central and local newspapers and radio stations.
During this trip, the delegation will also visit and congratulate the civil and party agencies and armed forces stationed in Con Dao district, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province on the New Year. The working trip is expected to last from 15 to 17 days.
According to Colonel Do Hong Duyen, in addition to inspecting combat readiness, the two working delegations will bring Tet gifts from the Ministry of National Defense , the Navy, the Naval Region 2 Command, civil and political agencies, businesses and local people to give to officers and soldiers on duty at sea, on islands, and on the southern continental shelf on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025; goods and necessities according to the Ministry of National Defense's Tet standards for officers and soldiers to celebrate the Lunar New Year (pigs, chickens, sticky rice, dong leaves, green beans, apricot blossoms, peach blossoms, kumquats, jams, candies, etc.).
On this occasion, 28 agencies, organizations and individuals presented Tet gifts to the rigs and ships with more than 1,000 packages of about 20 tons. The gifts included: cakes, candies, sticky rice, dong leaves, green beans, ham, vermicelli, kumquat trees... and cash of 125 million VND. The total value was about more than 2 billion VND.
"This is a regular activity every time Tet comes, Spring returns, demonstrating the concern of the Party, State, Army, Service, Naval Region 2 and the affection of the people nationwide for the forces, officers and soldiers on duty in the seas and islands of the Fatherland, in order to promptly encourage and motivate officers and soldiers to overcome difficulties, work with peace of mind, excellently complete all assigned tasks, firmly protect the sovereignty of the seas, islands and continental shelf of the Fatherland" - Colonel Do Hong Duyen said.
Speaking at the farewell ceremony for the two working delegations, Colonel Tran Manh Chien, Political Commissar of Naval Region 2, shared that every time Tet comes, ships of Naval Region 2 bring goods, necessities, Tet gifts and simple gifts from the mainland with all the affection and trust to the soldiers on the front lines of the Fatherland.
"That is the concern of the Party, the State, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and the people of the whole country, our overseas Vietnamese for the sea and islands in general and the soldiers of the DK1 Platform in particular; helping the soldiers on the front line to be motivated, overcome all challenges, persevere, and excellently complete the task of protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland" - Colonel Tran Manh Chien said.
Colonel Tran Manh Chien emphasized that when performing tasks in long-term conditions at sea and in unfavorable weather, the Regional Command requested the working group on the ship to uphold responsibility, unite to overcome difficulties, and bring Tet gifts to officers and soldiers on the front line in absolute safety.
