The results of the exams are the basis for admission to grade 10 of high school. Therefore, students need to prepare the best conditions to have the best mentality and performance in the exam.

Review knowledge

Although there are only 6 days left for the exam, students still need to review and revise their knowledge of all subjects during these days. Students should not worry too much and review too much, stay up too late, or wake up late.

According to teachers' experience, close to the exam date, students need to set up a suitable schedule such as: waking up early; reviewing within the exam time frame; timing the exam according to the prescribed exam time...

Eat cooked food, drink boiled water

To ensure good health, in the days before and during the exam, teachers remind candidates to eat cooked food and drink boiled water. By eating cooked food, students should only eat food that has been thoroughly cooked and has a clear origin. Avoid eating outside food that can cause stomach aches or even food poisoning, which can affect health.

On hot days, students are stressed with studying for exams and may want to cool off with milk tea or street drinks. However, students and parents are advised by teachers to limit drinks in places that pose a risk of food safety.

Do not exercise vigorously to avoid injury.

During exams, there are still situations that occur such as: candidates with broken arms or legs are forced to use stretchers or wheelchairs to get to the exam room. Candidates with broken arms, unable to write the exam, have to rely on the support of another student. Therefore, right before the exam, students are advised by the school not to participate in strong sports activities that can easily cause injury. Instead, they should only do light exercise.

Not reviewing new, difficult content

Near the exam, students should prioritize reviewing the content and types of exercises that have been taught by teachers in class. Reread the basic knowledge in textbooks, solutions to exercises, and questions that teachers have reviewed.

If there are any problems, students should ask their teachers immediately for answers. During this time, students should not learn new, difficult knowledge that will cause unnecessary stress.

Grasp the exam regulations

Before the exam, schools organize instructions for students to study the exam regulations to understand what they need to know; prohibited regulations; regulations that candidates are allowed to follow; and items allowed to bring into the exam room.

Before the exam, candidates will have a meeting at the exam site to listen to the invigilator once again explain the regulations; drum signals, and time to be present in the exam room. Candidates need to listen carefully to the announcements on the day of the exam registration procedure.

Another important note is that candidates and parents need to read the exact name of the exam location and address of the exam site to arrive at the correct exam location and on time. In previous years, there were still cases of candidates arriving at the wrong exam location because they did not read the name of the middle school or high school carefully.

Absolutely do not bring electronic devices into the exam room.

The exam regulations stipulate that candidates will be ticketed and suspended from the exam if they bring mobile phones or light-emitting devices into the exam room. In reality, there are still cases where candidates accidentally bring mobile phones or smart watches into the exam room and are unfortunately ticketed.

During the 10th grade entrance exam in Hanoi, each testing site has an area for candidates to leave their backpacks and belongings before entering the testing room. However, candidates are advised to leave all “prohibited” devices at home or send them to their parents before entering the testing area. After finishing the exam, candidates should make an appointment with their family members to wait for them at the gate of the testing site.

Can bring drinking water

The regulations stipulate that candidates must bring: Exam registration form, citizen identification card, school supplies such as pens, pencils for multiple choice questions, ruler, compass, eraser, calculator without memory card and word processing function.

In addition, candidates can bring a water bottle but must remove all labels and ensure the water bottle is transparent. Regarding pens, candidates should prepare 3-4 pens of the same color and pencils.

Create a comfortable mindset

Students need to keep a relaxed mind, not too stressed or pressured before the exam. It is important to eat and sleep on time, not stay up too late, which will make the body tired, reduce memory, and make the exam ineffective.

Parents are also advised by schools to accompany and support their children, and not to put unnecessary pressure on them. Parents encourage their children to be confident, and not to put too much emphasis on exam scores, passing or failing results.

During the time students take the exam, parents or relatives should arrange to take the candidates to the exam, avoiding situations such as: vehicle breakdown, going to the wrong exam location and some situations that may arise that are difficult for students to handle as well as forgetting documents, school supplies...

Take the test with confidence

When entering the exam room, candidates need to calmly read the exam questions and check whether the questions are clear or not. If the questions are blurry, they must immediately report to the invigilator to change the questions.

The time to do the Math and Literature test is 120 minutes. After receiving the test, students should read it through once, doing the easy questions first, then the difficult ones. Before submitting the test, they should carefully check the information and review the test again.

The Hanoi 10th grade entrance exam took place from June 7-8 with nearly 104,000 candidates taking the exam. Each candidate will take 3 exams including: Math, Literature, and Foreign Language to get the score for admission to 10th grade.
