As the head of the Party, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong always pays attention and good feelings to the cause of taking care of people's health and health workers.

As a patient, the General Secretary was a patient, disciplined, strictly and diligently followed medical instructions and always respected, trusted and had genuine feelings for doctors.

While working at the Central Committee for the Protection and Care of Cadres' Health and the Professional Council, we were assigned to chair professional consultations. Our council included many leading experts from most specialties to come up with a very strict and tight regimen of nutrition, physical therapy, oriental medicine, western medicine, rest and living regimen to restore the General Secretary's ability to move, walk and work normally.

Until this moment, when he has passed away, remembering those days, when we were able to monitor and supervise the treatment regimens with him, we all feel moved.

He was a pleasant, gentle, optimistic patient who always tried his best to comply with a strict, arduous treatment regimen.

He joked that we were too harsh on him and called Mr. Loi, the physical therapist, Ha Khac Loi, and me Ha Khac Tien.

We closely monitored his dinner tray, which worried him. Every time we opened the food cover, he said the food was exactly as prescribed by the doctor.

The Central Office Administration Department felt sorry for him and wanted to adjust his diet, but I did not agree. Thinking back then and now, I still feel sorry for him because we really just wanted him to recover soon and walk normally.

Seeing that he was having a hard time with the treatment regimen, the Expert Council visited him after the consultation meeting, talked to him and even sang for him. He really liked it and sang along. No one expected that he knew those songs by heart.

With his extraordinary willpower, the efforts of his professionals and colleagues, he was finally able to sit in meetings, write, read and walk quite normally.

I have many other memories. But now he is gone. Remembering these memories, I am still moved.
