Foods that damage the liver faster than alcohol, many people eat them every day without thinking

In the body, the liver is responsible for eliminating toxins from the body. All foods and drinks after entering the body are metabolized through the liver.

Therefore, protecting the liver from external harm is extremely necessary. However, many Vietnamese people are fond of dangerous foods that damage the liver faster than beer and alcohol.

Road

Few people know that eating too much sugar is not only bad for your teeth but also puts your liver at risk. In the liver, fructose is metabolized and some of it becomes fat droplets. If you consume too much refined sugar and high fructose syrup, fat will accumulate in the liver and cause liver disease.

Some studies have shown that sugar can be as damaging to the liver as alcohol, even if you are not overweight. Therefore, limiting foods high in sugar such as cakes and sweets is the best solution to protect your health.

Fresh bamboo shoots

Fresh bamboo shoots are a familiar food for Vietnamese people. However, bamboo shoots contain substances that can cause poisoning to users, even endangering their lives. Fresh bamboo shoots contain very high levels of cyanide (about 230 mg in 1 kg of bamboo shoots).

When eating bamboo shoots containing a lot of cyanide, under the influence of digestive enzymes, cyanide turns into hydrocyanic acid (HCN), an extremely toxic substance to the body, harmful to the liver.

Grilled and fried food

Grilled and fried foods taste delicious but are bad for your liver. They are often heavily seasoned, including sugar, and are grilled or fried at high temperatures.

This process can cause harmful substances to the liver, causing the liver to work harder to process toxins... Over time, it can cause chronic liver diseases.

Animal organs

Animal organs are one of the popular dishes that many Vietnamese people love. However, it contains a lot of fat and cholesterol which is not good for health.

Eating a lot of animal organs will reduce or inhibit bile secretion, making it impossible for the liver to purify fat and increasing the metabolic burden on the liver.

Fast food, processed food

These foods contain a lot of fat and are very high in calories. Eating them regularly not only increases the risk of obesity and excess fat accumulation in the body, but also increases the burden on liver cells. Over time, this can reduce the liver's ability to metabolize fat and lead to fatty liver disease.

Soft drink

Many studies show that people who drink a lot of soft drinks are more likely to have non-alcoholic fatty liver disease than those who drink less.

These studies don't prove that soda is the primary cause of disease, but cutting out soda every day can help you switch to a healthier beverage.

Acetaminophen

If you have a backache, a headache or a cold and need to take medicine, make sure you take the right medicine and the right dosage!

If for some reason you have to take both cold medicine and headache medicine, and both contain acetaminophen, it will have a bad effect on your liver. Always check the dosage of medicine used in the day to suit your condition, this will help protect your health.

Salt

Research shows that a high-salt diet can also lead to fatty liver disease. Excessive salt intake contributes to liver damage in adults and developing fetuses. Increased salt intake is linked to high blood pressure, which is a major cause of heart disease and stroke, according to Boldsky.

Additionally, too much salt can lead to changes in liver cells associated with fibrosis, so it is important to reduce the amount of salt in your diet.

Canned vegetables

Canned vegetables are convenient to store and use when needed, but similar to processed meats, canned foods contain a lot of salt which acts as a preservative, which is of course not good for your liver. If you want to stock up on vegetables, choose frozen vegetables instead of canned vegetables.
