The event gathered nearly 200 guests, including local agencies, ministries, diplomatic missions in Astana, representatives of international organizations, the business community, friends and overseas Vietnamese, and Vietnamese students living and studying in Kazakhstan.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of Kazakhstan's leadership: Deputy Foreign Minister Alibek Bakayev; Deputy Minister of Trade and Integration Aset Nusupov; Deputy Minister of Transport Talgat Tleubekovich Lastayev; and especially Major General Asan Zhusipov, First Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Deputy Minister of Defense , who recently came to Vietnam to attend the parade celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day in Hanoi.
In a solemn atmosphere, the ceremony opened with the introduction of precious documentary footage of President Ho Chi Minh reading the Declaration of Independence on September 2, 1945, the historic day and the 80-year journey of building, protecting, innovating, and integrating into the world of Vietnam.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Pham Thai Nhu Mai recalled the historic moment in 1945, when from a poor and war-torn country, Vietnam today has risen to become an economy among the top 35 countries in the world, firmly on the path of modernization, integration and prosperous development.
On this important occasion, the Ambassador also expressed his deep gratitude to international friends who have supported Vietnam in the process of national construction and development.
The friendship and multifaceted development between Vietnam and Kazakhstan have also recorded remarkable progress in recent times. The two State visits of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Vietnam in 2023 and General Secretary To Lam to Kazakhstan in 2025 have brought the relationship between the two countries to a new level: Strategic Partnership, opening a period of extensive cooperation in many fields.
Today, Vietnam is in the top 3 most favorite destinations for tourists from Kazakhstan. Since the first direct flight between the two countries opened at the end of 2022, there have been about 40 flights per week, bringing 150,000 Kazakh tourists to Vietnam.
In terms of trade, the two countries aim to reach a bilateral trade turnover of 5 billion USD by 2030. In terms of investment, Sovico Group has acquired Kazakhstan's Qazaq Air and is preparing to launch Vietjet Qazaqstan.
Two international financial centers are being urgently built in Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City, which are based on the model and experience of the Astana International Financial Center. For the first time in history, Vietnam-Kazakhstan oil and gas cooperation has begun, with the participation of PVEP and KazMunayGas, with many prospects.

On behalf of the Government of Kazakhstan, Deputy Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Nusupov Aset congratulated Vietnam on the occasion of the important anniversary, affirming that Vietnam is one of Kazakhstan's leading important partners in the Asia-Pacific region. He highly appreciated Vietnam's support for Kazakhstan's international initiatives, and said that the current cooperation between Vietnamese and Kazakh partners is "very practical".
On this occasion, Ambassador Pham Thai Nhu Mai also announced the very meaningful information that a street in Almaty city will be named “Ho Chi Minh Street” this year. President Ho Chi Minh is the founder of Vietnam and also the one who laid the foundation for friendship between the two countries when he visited Kazakhstan in 1959.
Attending the Ceremony, the guests were delighted to enjoy Vietnamese and Kazakh melodies performed by the QazaqConcert National String Orchestra. The guests also enjoyed Vietnamese coffee, received lovely souvenirs and viewed a photo exhibition about the land and people of Vietnam.
The ceremony ended in a solemn yet warm atmosphere, when all guests raised their glasses to celebrate the strong friendship between Vietnam and Kazakhstan, wishing health and happiness to the leaders and people of the two countries, and together looking towards a future of peace, cooperation and prosperity.
