At the meeting, Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung expressed his pleasure at officially meeting the Singaporean Foreign Minister for the first time in his new capacity; affirming his desire to further promote the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Singapore in general and the good cooperation between the two countries ' Ministries of Foreign Affairs in particular.
The two Ministers expressed their pleasure at the particularly important step forward in bilateral relations with the upgrading to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, a significant milestone that opens up many opportunities to deepen and elevate cooperation between the two countries to a new level; they highly appreciated the completion of the Action Program for implementing the Vietnam-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which was signed in the presence of the Prime Ministers of both countries on this occasion, as a direction for the more comprehensive development of bilateral relations for the next five years.
Satisfied with the progress in economic cooperation, the two ministers agreed to continue promoting exchanges of high-level and other delegations; effectively implement existing bilateral mechanisms, establish new cooperation mechanisms, especially through party channels; and focus on coordinating with relevant ministries and agencies to actively implement the results achieved during recent high-level visits, especially the Green Economy - Digital Economy Partnership and the Economic Connectivity Agreement.

Both sides also agreed to coordinate the upgrading of the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Parks (VSIP) network to a greener and smarter second generation, and to continue close cooperation in other important areas such as training high-quality human resources and building smart cities; affirming mutual support at multilateral forums.
The two ministers agreed to jointly promote mutually beneficial areas of cooperation, continue to support and coordinate positions between the two countries on issues of common interest at regional and international forums; including coordinating to ensure ASEAN's common position on the South China Sea issue, ensuring the full implementation of the DOC, and promptly achieving an effective and substantive COC in accordance with international law, including UNCLOS 1982.
On this occasion, Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung thanked Singapore for its emergency aid in various forms, including essential supplies, to help people in several northern provinces of Vietnam overcome the consequences of storms and floods.
