After reaching the scene, rescuers discovered a house with brick walls and a corrugated iron roof had completely collapsed due to a large amount of earth and rock.
Through verification with the victim's family, it was determined that one victim buried in the house was Ms. Vu Thi L, born in 1958, registered residence at Group 7, Sa Pa ward, Sa Pa town.

The rescue force coordinated with the Cau May Ward Police and the Ward People's Committee to use hydraulic balls, an excavator and remove the wall and roof that were pressing on the victim to get him out. By 8:00 a.m. the same day, the body was brought out and handed over to the medical team and his family.
It is known that the house is not located in an area at risk of landslides. However, in recent days, in some mountainous areas in the province, there has been heavy rain, the soil and rocks are saturated, posing a high risk of landslides. Therefore, people need to be vigilant for signs of flash floods such as heavy rain for many days in the upper reaches, river or stream water turning cloudy, unusual noises of soil and rocks or strange sounds underground...

When seeing the above signs, people need to quickly move away from areas where flash floods and landslides may occur to a safe location, avoiding possible bad situations.
