The place of worship of the first king of Vietnam

TPO - In A Lu village, Dai Dong Thanh commune (Thuan Thanh district, Bac Ninh province), there is the tomb and temple of Kinh Duong Vuong - grandfather of King Hung - ancestor of ancient Vietnamese people.

Kinh Duong Vuong tomb is located outside the dike, about 500 meters from today's Duong River.

The mausoleum today is covered with large trees, creating a quiet, majestic landscape.

During the French colonial period, the mausoleum was devastated. It was not until 1971 that the people of A Lu village had the conditions to plan and restore it to a spacious and airy space that still bears the imprint of ancient architecture.

Right next to the Duong River, there is a pair of very large green stone dragons facing the Kinh Duong Vuong Temple.

The mausoleum has two roofs, in front of the mausoleum there are three altars, on the way to the right side of the mausoleum there is a house for visitors to prepare offerings, the total area of ​​the mausoleum is about 4,200 m2.

The mausoleum's ceremonial plaque includes: a 1.05 m high, 0.45 m wide green stone stele bearing the inscription "Kinh Duong Vuong mausoleum" engraved in the 21st year of Minh Mang (1840) along with a number of large ceramic and porcelain incense bowls with ancient patterns...

Kinh Duong Vuong Temple is located about 300 meters from the mausoleum, about 2,347 square meters wide.

The middle room of the temple has a gilded throne placed on the Kinh Duong Vuong altar, the left room has a throne to worship Au Co, the right room has a throne to worship Lac Long Quan, along with a system of worship objects that are solemnly arranged.

Despite the devastation of war, the people of A Lu always preserve and restore the historical site of Kinh Duong Vuong's mausoleum and temple, demonstrating the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source". The historical site of Kinh Duong Vuong's mausoleum and temple affirms that Bac Ninh is the land where ancient Vietnamese people settled early - the cradle of the Vietnamese land and enriches the historical treasure of the ancient and cultured Northern region, further clarifying the origin of the Vietnamese people.
