Dien Bien agricultural specialties leave their mark in the lowlands

DBP - In recent times, the number of mountain-crossing trucks bringing Dien Bien agricultural products to major provinces and cities across the country has increased. At supermarkets and trade fairs, Dien Bien's agricultural specialties have reached consumers and received positive feedback. Focusing on product quality and design; promoting trade promotion (XTTM) of agricultural specialties and OCOP products widely is Dien Bien's way of continuing to promote and consume local products and moving towards linking product networks across the country.

When agricultural products come to the city

In early August, many OCOP products were recognized with 3 stars or more, such as: Dien Bien sticky rice of Tam Thien Cooperative; dong vermicelli of Loc Bien Dong Vermicelli Cooperative; Chung Phuoc smoked buffalo meat of Luong Thi Oi business household; brown rice vermicelli and pho of all kinds of Dien Bien Agricultural Products Production and Processing Cooperative; freeze-dried hawthorn, hawthorn vinegar of Tay Bac Clean Agricultural Products Cooperative; Thanh Tra leaves - Tua Chua ancient Shan Tuyet green tea of ​​Huong Linh Dien Bien Company Limited; HK13 matte black coffee of Hong Ky International Coffee Joint Stock Company... have successively crossed the mountains to large cities in the lowlands.

On the display shelves at Doan Mon yard, Thang Long Imperial Citadel Relic Site ( Hanoi ) - the venue of the OCOP Export Products Fair (VIETNAM OCOPEX 2025), these products are of interest to consumers and are chosen to buy. Notably, during the 4 days of this event, a number of OCOP products were visited by businesses in Hanoi and other provinces to learn about, discuss, and discuss consumption links. Typical are: Pa Thom brocade scarf products of Pa Thom brocade weaving cooperative; sticky rice, seng cu rice of Tam Thien cooperative; dong vermicelli of Loc Bien dong vermicelli cooperative; smoked buffalo meat of Lo Thi Suong business household and vermicelli, brown rice pho of all kinds of Dien Bien agricultural products production, processing and trading cooperative.

Also in Hanoi, the Dien Bien province's culinary booth at the National Achievements Exhibition to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2nd attracted a large number of people and tourists from all over the country. With local agricultural specialties such as: Pork, grilled black chicken and traditional purple sticky rice of the Thai people, it created a particularly attractive attraction. Just passing through the booth, the characteristic aroma of grilled meat mixed with the aroma of sticky rice from the purple sticky rice pot made it difficult for diners to refuse. During the nearly 20 days of the exhibition, the Dien Bien province's culinary booth was always crowded with customers lining up to wait their turn to enjoy. The booth constantly had to add ingredients from Dien Bien to Hanoi because the supply could not meet the demand of tourists.

Ms. Nguyen Thu Hong, a tourist from Hai Phong City, said: I have known Dien Bien for a long time, famous for its traditional dishes, such as purple sticky rice, grilled meat, grilled chicken... but today is the first time I have tasted them. What's more special is that in the middle of Hanoi, I can still be immersed in a space filled with the colors of the Northwest; making this experience even more interesting and attractive.

Promote trade

In recent times, events such as fairs and exhibitions have been held as opportunities to introduce and promote the brand of OCOP products and typical products of Dien Bien province to a large number of people and domestic and international tourists. This is considered an important bridge, helping businesses and cooperatives have the opportunity to meet, exchange, find business partners, and promote trade activities.

In the first 9 months of the year, the Trade Promotion Center (Department of Industry and Trade) has made efforts to organize many trade stimulus activities to help Dien Bien's agricultural specialties and OCOP products participate in many important trade events at home and abroad. Such as the Coffee and OCOP Products Exhibition Fair within the framework of the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025; OCOP Fair in the Red River Delta - Quang Ninh 2025; Trade Fair of the 3 countries (Laos - China - Vietnam) and the Tea Festival in 2025 in Phoong Sa Ly province (Lao PDR).

The Trade Promotion Center implemented the project "Organizing to welcome foreign business delegations to Vietnam to trade and purchase goods with localities in the Northwest region"; advised the Department of Industry and Trade to issue a document on registering participants in tea exchange and exhibition activities in Giang Thanh district, Pu'er city (Yunnan province, China); participated in a series of events to promote regional linkages in e-commerce development in Lai Chau province...

Mr. Trinh Huy Dong, Director of the Trade Promotion Center, said: With the synchronous and effective implementation of many trade stimulus solutions, typical products and typical rural industrial products of Dien Bien have been known and highly appreciated by customers for their quality and design. Many customers have proactively sought out product information to propose cooperation and open distribution agencies for OCOP products, typical rural industrial products and agricultural specialties of the province.

In the coming time, the Trade Promotion Center will focus on organizing booths at the 15th Dien Bien Provincial Party Congress; develop plans to organize participation in trade fairs and events in provinces and cities such as Thanh Hoa, Lao Cai, Hai Phong, Son La, Lai Chau and Ho Chi Minh City. Locally, the unit will continue to support businesses in the province to display, introduce and promote products at the OCOP product display and sales points, typical rural industrial products, agricultural products and regional specialties. Provide trade information, information on trade fairs and exhibitions, trade promotion programs for businesses in the province; mobilize and support businesses in the province to participate in trade promotion programs. Thereby, continue to promote the promotion and consumption of local agricultural specialties, aiming to connect product networks across the country.
