The music night is part of the "Essence of Sound" event series taking place at 8:00 p.m. on September 20 at Ho Guom Theater, Hanoi .
The Vivaldi & Beethoven concert is part of the series of concerts celebrating the 10th anniversary of the ''Vietnam Connection Music Festival'' initiated by Honorary Professor KazNua (Kazakhstan National University of Arts) - People's Artist Bui Cong Duy and international violinist Chuong Vu since 2015. The program brings together many talented artists, especially Denis Shapovalow - cellist who won the Gold Medal at the 11th Tchaikovksy Music Competition in Moscow and pianist Luong Khanh Nhi - who just won 3rd prize at the prestigious Leeds Piano Competition 2024.
The event, conducted by conductor Honna Tetsuji, not only brought the audience a musical journey through time from the brightness and rich imagery of Vivaldi to the majestic depth of Beethoven, but also affirmed the position and performance quality of the Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra in the international classical music flow.
Part I introduces four Concertos from the Four Seasons collection - Antonio Vivaldi's immortal masterpiece, with solo performances by violinist Chuong Vu ( Spring and Summer) and Do Phuong Nhi ( Autumn and Winter).
After the break, the audience will move on to Part II of the program to enjoy Ludwig van Beethoven's Concerto for 3 C major, Op. 56. The work will be performed by 3 soloists: People's Artist Bui Cong Duy, cellist Denis Shapovalov and pianist Luong Khanh Nhi - who recently impressed with the performance Song Lo at the National Concert Dieu con mai (Forever) organized by VietNamNet.
An internationally acclaimed violinist, acclaimed by Yehudi Wyner for his refined and poetic playing style, Dr. Chuong Vu has appeared as a soloist, chamber musician and concertmaster in many countries in the Americas, Europe and Asia. He has collaborated with many prestigious artists, orchestras and festivals, and has premiered many works by contemporary composers, including compositions written for him. Currently the Artistic Director of the Vietnam Connection Music Festival, Dr. Chuong Vu is also actively involved in teaching, judging international violin competitions and contributing to the musical scene both domestically and internationally.

People's Artist Bui Cong Duy won the First Prize and Gold Medal at the 3rd Tchaikovsky International Music Competition for Young Artists in 1997 in Saint Petersburg. He has performed with many prestigious international orchestras and participated in important global music events, and collaborated with many great artists such as: Shlomo Mintz, Nobuko Imai, Stephanie Chase and Johannes Moser. Currently, he is the Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, Artistic Director of Vietnam Classical Players and Executive Director of Vietnam Connection Music Festival.

Denis Shapovalov is a Russian-Israeli musician who won the First Prize and Gold Medal at the 11th International Tchaikovsky Competition at the age of 23, and became the youngest lecturer at the Moscow Conservatory at the age of 26. He is a cellist, conductor and composer, performing at major venues such as the Musikverein Vienna, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Royal Festival Hall London, Suntory Hall Tokyo and Avery Fisher Hall New York, collaborating with many internationally renowned orchestras and artists. Since 2016, his instrumental and symphonic works have been performed at numerous festivals in Europe, alongside unique classical-rock fusion projects, affirming his creative and diverse style.
