Madison Beer said she lost her confidence for many years because of the nude photo leak incident when she was 16. It was the darkest time for the female singer.
Madison Beer has been in the spotlight since she was just 12. Now 24, the Dangerous singer is opening up about a difficult period in her life in her upcoming memoir , The Half of It .
Madison Beer recently shared an excerpt from her memoir with People . Accordingly, the singer revealed that she had negative intentions when she was only 16 years old because she was dropped by music label Island Def Jam and nude photos were leaked online.

“Being fired was a huge blow to my career and personal life. The nude photos were especially devastating. The two events, happening in quick succession, knocked me off my feet, tilted my world on its axis, and left me feeling like I didn’t know who I was. I didn’t know who I could trust anymore, and I didn’t even know where to turn for help,” People quoted the memoir as saying.
“It was a lot of conflicting emotions for a 16-year-old girl trying to handle on her own. I felt like I was my own worst enemy. I became more and more withdrawn, and that was the beginning of the darkest period of my life. It started at 16 and lasted into my twenties. There were times—like the night my nude photos were leaked—when I felt backed into a corner and thought the only way out was to end my life,” Madison Beer said.
According to the singer, she once thought about doing something negative but was fortunately discovered by her younger brother. Madison Beer explained that the reason for sharing her life's events is to stop people from doing ugly things and attacking others behind the keyboard.
After the incident, Madison Beer struggled to regain her confidence. She went from shooting with professional crews in big, bright locations to shooting the cover of her next single with a handheld camera in her living room.
