My Duc 1 Primary School presents gifts to disadvantaged students on the occasion of the opening of the new school year 2025-2026.

In the 2025-2026 school year, My Duc 1 Primary School will have 16 classes with a total of 569 students, of whom 29 are from disadvantaged backgrounds (including 4 disabled students who receive financial assistance for their studies under the government's program). From the beginning of the school year, the school's management proactively reviewed the student list, coordinated with local authorities and homeroom teachers to understand the specific situation of each student, and developed appropriate and practical support plans.

Since the beginning of 2025, during the Lunar New Year, the start of the new school year, and the Mid-Autumn Festival, the school has organized the distribution of over 30 gifts to disadvantaged students, totaling more than 12 million VND. Each gift represents sharing and encouragement, helping the students overcome difficulties and confidently strive in their studies and personal development.

One exemplary case is Trinh Dieu Anh, a student in class 5A. Her father passed away early, and Dieu Anh and her two sisters live with their mother, Nguyen Thi Xuan, in Tien Lap village (An Khanh commune). Despite her difficult family circumstances, she always strives to excel in her studies, is polite, and gets along well with her friends. She receives special attention from her teachers during holidays and festivals.

Ms. Xuan emotionally shared: “I am very grateful to the school's administration and the school for always caring for and encouraging Dieu Anh with gifts throughout her school years. This is not just about material support, but also a great encouragement for her to happily go to school and study like her peers.”

To provide timely assistance to students facing difficulties, My Duc 1 Primary School actively mobilizes businesses and philanthropists to participate in educational and charitable activities. The school connected with the SOS An Lao group to sponsor 5 students from disadvantaged backgrounds; the Southern Saigon Professional MC Training Company donated 10 gift packages (worth 500,000 VND each); and the affiliated centers teaching foreign languages and life skills at the school waived or reduced tuition fees for 29 disadvantaged students, creating conditions for them to fully access learning programs and develop their skills.

According to Mr. Pham Van Long, Principal of My Duc 1 Primary School, the school's management board and teachers always pay special attention to students from disadvantaged backgrounds through many meaningful activities such as waiving or reducing fees, mobilizing benefactors to provide monthly financial support, and giving gifts on holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year)...

"We consider this a crucial mission to help students gain more motivation to excel, ensuring that no student is left behind," Long shared.

In addition to caring for students within the school, the teachers and students of My Duc 1 Primary School actively participate in charitable activities aimed at the community. In October 2025, responding to the call to support people in Thai Nguyen province severely affected by storms and floods, the school launched a fundraising campaign among all staff, teachers, parents, and the local community.

In just one day, the program received overwhelming support. Dozens of relief supplies, including bottled water, milk, instant noodles, rice cakes, sausages, medicine, and toilet paper, were carefully packed, labeled, and arranged on a 7-ton truck. Mr. Trinh Van Hai (parent of a student in class 3A) and Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuan (parent of a student in class 3C) voluntarily sponsored the entire "zero-cost" truckload of goods to the flood-affected area, directly handing them over to local officials and residents in need.

For hours, teachers and parents worked together to sort and load goods. Despite the busy schedule, everyone was radiant and enthusiastic because their small contribution spread warmth and human kindness to their fellow citizens in the flood-stricken areas.

“This meaningful activity not only provides timely assistance to flood victims but also serves as a vivid lesson in the spirit of ‘mutual support and compassion’ for the students in our school. Each gift, each entry in the donation book, is proof of the power of love and solidarity. We deeply appreciate the generous hearts who have joined the school in carrying out this charitable journey,” expressed Ms. Nguyen Thu Thuy, a teacher at My Duc 1 Primary School.

According to Luong Xuan Tam, Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Department of An Khanh commune, My Duc 1 Primary School not only performs its teaching duties well but also actively participates in charitable and community-oriented movements. This is a beautiful example that contributes to educating students about sharing and social responsibility from a young age.

Through practical actions, My Duc 1 Primary School is affirming its role as a school that not only focuses on teaching literacy and character but also fosters and promotes compassion in today's students.
