According to Knowledge , Daily Mail reported that a knife attack occurred at the Westfield Bondi Junction shopping center in Sydney on the afternoon of April 13 (local time). The attacker was present at the shopping center at 3:00 p.m. and left, and he returned at 3:20 p.m. with a knife.
The suspect then began attacking people, killing at least six people and injuring many others. The shopping mall was locked down at 4 p.m.

New South Wales Police Commissioner Karen Webb said the Sydney stabbing suspect was a 40-year-old man and the attack was not believed to be terrorism-related.
“Initial investigations indicate this individual acted alone,” Anthony Cooke, assistant commissioner of New South Wales police, said at a press conference. The suspect’s identity has not been released.
The attacker was reportedly shot dead at the scene by a female police officer. The female officer approached the attacker, who was wielding a large kitchen knife and refused to drop her weapon, before opening fire on him.
After the attacker fell, the policewoman and a colleague checked on the suspect and provided first aid. Paramedics arrived and continued to provide first aid, but he died at the scene.

In a statement the same day, Prime Minister Albanese described the Sydney shopping centre attack as a horrific act of violence targeting innocent people on an ordinary Saturday, according to Tuoi Tre .
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese praised the policewoman's bravery. "She is certainly a hero. There is no doubt that she saved many lives through her actions," said Prime Minister Albanese.
The policewoman was working at the shopping centre when the attack happened, a detective and duty officer at nearby Waverley Police Station, sources said.
Australian authorities are currently investigating to determine the attacker's motive.
