On the afternoon of October 26, speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Le Minh Chien, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tra Tan Commune, Da Nang City, said that at 3:00 p.m. the same day, heavy rain and floods caused a landslide on Ca Da bridge connecting this commune with Tra Giang commune, on National Highway 24C to Quang Ngai.
The landslide is located near the bridge abutment on the side of Song Y village, Tra Tan commune (belonging to Bac Tra My district, old Quang Nam ) at Km85+095 of National Highway 24C, creating a large, deep hole that is very dangerous for road users.
After the landslide, a motorcyclist crossed the bridge and fell off, fortunately not injured. The authorities later lifted the motorbike up.
In addition, the authorities have directed the functional forces to stretch ropes and barricades on both sides of the bridge, and assign people to be on duty on both sides to warn people and vehicles not to pass through to ensure safety.
In the border commune of La Dee, Da Nang city, a landslide occurred, causing rocks and soil to flood into the house of a family in Dac Penh village.
The commune has mobilized the family to stay at relatives' houses to ensure safety. When the rain stops, the force will be sent to overcome the consequences of the landslide.
According to a quick report on the response to heavy rain in Da Nang city, on the damage to national highways (mostly located in the old Quang Nam area), specifically national highway 14B had a landslide at Km1+300 (left of the route) causing the ditch to be filled, with a volume of about 30m³.
Subsidence, broken culvert segment downstream, damage to downstream culvert at Km72+585, and landslide of positive slope at Km121+850 (left route), volume of about 500m³.
In Tay Giang commune, traffic routes at Km23+480 of DT.606 road experienced landslides and subsidence of the road surface from Km23+454 - Km23+497 (about 43m long).
In Tra My commune, a landslide occurred on Highway 40B, flooding occurred at the Ba Xem intersection and Mr. My's house, with water about 0.4-0.6m deep, making it difficult for people to travel.
In Tra Linh commune, heavy rain caused landslides on roads with an estimated volume of 5,000m³.
In Phuoc Thanh commune, route DH1 from Phuoc Chanh to the center of Phuoc Thanh commune has been eroded at 5 points and is currently impassable. Route DH2 from the center of the commune through villages 8 and 9 (the People's Committee of the old Phuoc Loc commune) has had its culvert washed away (because the bridge on the route has not been completed yet) so it is impassable.
Traffic routes from the commune center to villages 3 and 4 were completely cut off due to landslides in many sections and the rising water level of the Dak Met River caused flooding at the village bridge.
In Phuoc Chanh commune, the university roads in the commune suffered particularly serious landslides, with the volume of landslides at 22 points estimated at over 10,000m³, burying many sections of road, causing traffic disruption between villages in the commune and Phuoc Thanh commune.
