On the afternoon of July 31, the 23rd session (special session) of the 10th term People's Council of Soc Trang province, term 2021 - 2026, passed a number of important Resolutions and carried out personnel work within its authority.

At this session, the People's Council of Soc Trang province dismissed Mr. Ly Rotha - Head of the Provincial Ethnic Minorities Committee from the position of member of the Provincial People's Committee, term X, 2021 - 2026, due to accepting a new assignment. In addition, the People's Council of the province approved the proposal to introduce the candidate to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, term X, 2021 - 2026 for Mr. Ly Rotha - Head of the Provincial Ethnic Minorities Committee. As a result, 44/44 delegates present voted in favor of electing Mr. Ly Rotha to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Soc Trang province.

New Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Soc Trang province Ly Rotha (born in 1972, hometown My Xuyen district, Soc Trang province). Professional qualifications: University of Education, Master of Mathematics. Advanced political theory. Before being elected as Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Soc Trang province, Mr. Ly Rotha held positions such as: Deputy Head of the Provincial Ethnic Committee, Deputy Secretary of Chau Thanh District Party Committee, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Head of the Provincial Ethnic Committee.

In her closing speech, Ms. Ho Thi Cam Dao - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Soc Trang province said that the meeting unanimously approved 8 draft resolutions. These are important contents, creating a legal basis for the Provincial People's Committee to be proactive in managing and effectively implementing socio -economic development goals and tasks.

This session of the People's Council carried out personnel work within its authority, dismissed 1 member of the Provincial People's Committee and elected the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term, with high consensus.
