Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai was appointed Chairman of Dong Thap province.

(Dan Tri) - At the 5th session of the People's Council of Dong Thap province, term X, 2021-2026, Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai, Deputy Secretary of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, was elected to hold the position of Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee.

On the afternoon of November 17, Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee held a ceremony to announce the decision of the Secretariat on the transfer and appointment of Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030.

At the ceremony, the Central Organizing Committee announced the decisions of the Secretariat on Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai ceasing to participate in the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee and ceasing to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term; transferring and appointing Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee - emphasized that Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai is a cadre with basic training, bachelor's degree in Law, master's degree in Economic Law, and advanced political theory.

Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai grew up from the grassroots and has worked in many positions in different units: Officer of the District Party Committee Office; Chief of Office, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tran Van Thoi District; Deputy Chief of Office, Chief of the Provincial Party Committee Office; Provincial Party Committee member, Secretary of the Nam Can District Party Committee, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Secretary of the Ca Mau City Party Committee; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau Province.

After merging the two provinces of Ca Mau and Bac Lieu into Ca Mau province, Mr. Ngai held the position of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province.

Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai is a capable and experienced cadre in Party building and State management; responsible, close to the grassroots, determined in work, and capable of gathering and uniting the leadership team.

Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee Nguyen Thanh Tam requested the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, leaders at all levels and sectors in Dong Thap province to continue promoting the spirit of solidarity, unity, sharing, and support for Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai in his new position, and together with the leadership team to successfully complete the assigned political tasks.

On the same afternoon, the People's Council of Dong Thap province, term X, 2021-2026, held the 5th session to carry out the process of dismissal and election of additional positions elected by the Provincial People's Council.

Accordingly, the People's Council of Dong Thap province voted to dismiss Mr. Tran Tri Quang from the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province for the 2021-2026 term (assigned and appointed to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term).

At the same time, the People's Council of Dong Thap province, term X, 2021-2026, elected Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai as Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee, term 2021-2026.
