According to RT, in an interview yesterday (October 11), Peskov said that it doesn't matter who wins the US presidential election. Responding to a question about whether President Putin would congratulate the winner after the results are announced, Peskov said: "I think not, after all, the US is an extremely unfriendly country." The term "unfriendly country" refers to countries that Moscow considers to have acted hostilely against Russia and its people. The US, the UK, and European Union (EU) countries are on this list, along with several others. Bilateral relations between Russia and the US deteriorated in 2022 when Washington and its allies imposed a series of economic sanctions on Moscow following the escalation of the Ukraine conflict. Furthermore, the White House has provided Kyiv with significant economic and military aid. Russian officials condemned the US move and accused Washington of playing a direct role in the clashes. Peskov had previously stated that Russia-US relations had reached a record low during outgoing President Joe Biden's term. He added that there was "no prospect" for improvement. President Putin congratulated Donald Trump and Joe Biden after the 2016 and 2020 US presidential elections.Vietnamnet.vn
