PETROSETCO and FPT successfully implemented a training workshop on digital transformation in enterprises

The goal of the event is not only to apply high technology to operations but also to reshape the entire governance and development ecosystem, taking people and technology as pillars.

Kicking off PETROSETCO’s comprehensive digital transformation journey, the training workshop “Digital Transformation in Enterprises” gathered more than 100 key managers of PETROSETCO. The program not only updated basic knowledge and information but also stimulated strategic thinking about digital transformation - helping the leadership team be ready to play a leading role in the comprehensive innovation process.

PETROSETCO is a multi-industry, multi-field enterprise, operating in 04 main services: Distribution Services, Supply and Logistics Services, Catering Services and Real Estate Services. As a member unit of the Vietnam National Industry and Energy Group (PVN), PETROSETCO is currently in the process of restructuring and building an independent development strategy, taking technology and people as the foundation.

2024 marks remarkable growth in most of PETROSETCO's business areas.

The distribution sector continued to grow impressively and contributed significantly to the total revenue of the entire system. In particular, the Telecommunications - Electronics product group continued to lead the market, firmly consolidating PETROSETCO's pioneering position in the technology distribution industry in Vietnam.

In addition, the logistics and oil and gas services sector (providing specialized equipment and materials, transportation and delivery services, import and export, immigration, labor supply, waste treatment, etc.) has made remarkable progress, thanks to the promotion of key projects. This is considered an area with great growth potential, creating a solid foundation for the expansion strategy in the coming time.

Lifestyle services - including the provision of industrial catering and food in special environments - have maintained steady growth and have begun to expand into the hospital sector, opening up a strategic direction in the medical catering sector.

In the field of real estate services (management of buildings, shopping centers, residential areas, etc.), member units such as PSA and POTS continue to make a prominent mark with the title of "National Brand" of PSA for many consecutive years, while POTS affirms its reputation and operational capacity when being recognized as "Best Real Estate Management Company in Vietnam 2024".

In 2024, PETROSETCO was honored in the Top 500 Largest Companies in Southeast Asia, Top 9 Distribution - Retail Enterprises Contributing the Largest Budget, and continued to maintain its position in the Top 500 Most Profitable Enterprises in Vietnam - Affirming its solid position domestically and regionally.

Digital transformation, for PETROSETCO, is not simply about digitizing the system but a strategy to re-engineer the entire organization - from management thinking, human resource structure, to operational processes. Cooperating with FPT Digital is the first but decisive step, aiming to bring PETROSETCO into the digital industrial era with a steady mindset, innovation and quick adaptation in a volatile business environment.

FPT Digital Kaizen™: A Strategy-to-Action Approach

In the training program, the team of experts from FPT Digital introduced the FPT Digital Kaizen™ methodology - a digital transformation model specifically designed for Vietnamese enterprises. Instead of applying stereotyped models from outside, PETROSETCO directly worked with experts to build a digital transformation strategy blueprint based on the operational status and specific business orientation of each service block.

Through this model, each PETROSETCO unit has helped measure the level of digital readiness and propose priority initiatives that can be implemented in the short term. This is not just a training activity, but a specific step to help PETROSETCO design a methodical, feasible and effective digital transformation roadmap.

Mr. Phung Tuan Ha - Chairman of PETROSETCO's Board of Directors gave a speech at the workshop, emphasizing the role of digital transformation and artificial intelligence in the Corporation's sustainable development strategy.

“We do not want to talk about digital transformation as a trend. PETROSETCO identifies digital transformation as a new operating platform, a way for us to optimize operations with internal resources and achieve breakthrough growth in the future,” shared Mr. Phung Tuan Ha, Chairman of PETROSETCO.

In addition to the overall strategy, the leadership team and key staff were also trained in building a digital initiative governance model - helping to ensure continuity, control risks and be ready to expand after the pilot phase. This is an important step, gradually bringing PETROSETCO closer to a data-driven enterprise model.

AI-First Thinking: New Actions in the New Age

The highlight of the program is the training and practice content on artificial intelligence (AI). Under the theme “AI-First - operational thinking in the digital age”, key staff were guided to approach some AI tools in the business context, and at the same time practiced applying them to specific problems such as: sales data analysis, customer care content automation, business report analysis and support for quick decision making.

FPT Digital also provides real-life models from the oil and gas, logistics and retail industries to demonstrate that AI is creating breakthrough and completely measurable values. PETROSETCO, with its multi-industry characteristics, is seen as having many opportunities to deploy distributed AI applications, effectively serving each member unit while still ensuring centralized management through data.

“AI opens up a new level of operation, where humans are empowered by data and technology. PETROSETCO is leveraging AI to expand value and sustainable competitiveness,” said Mr. Vuong Quan Ngoc, Consulting Director of FPT Digital - FPT Corporation.

AI is no longer seen as a mere support tool, but is increasingly becoming part of the operational architecture. PETROSETCO aims to integrate AI into existing operational platforms and leadership decision support models. This will help the company shorten work processing times, reduce errors, and improve accuracy in forecasting and planning.

Each Unit - One Strategy - One Separate AI Deployment Model

Digital transformation at PETROSETCO is not done in a uniform manner, but starts from each unit with its own orientation, data and problems. Along with that is a centralized data strategy - where all units share a unified data platform, helping leaders have a panoramic view and support quick operations in a volatile market context.

FPT Digital and PETROSETCO will continue to research suitable cooperation options to implement the next steps in the digital transformation process.

The goal of building PETROSETCO’s digital transformation roadmap is not only to upgrade technology, but more importantly, to create a comprehensive transformation, aiming to become the leading digital enterprise in the field of services, trade and distribution in Vietnam. This roadmap focuses on establishing a new operating platform – where each employee is enhanced in efficiency thanks to digital tools, each decision is made based on data, and each initiative is associated with specific, measurable value for the organization.
