With the theme "Humanitarian Journey – Giving and Receiving Love," the 2024 Humanitarian Month runs from May 1st to May 31st, with two peak weeks from May 8th (International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day) to May 19th (Birthday of President Ho Chi Minh – Founder and first Honorary President of the Vietnam Red Cross Society ). The program aims to widely disseminate humanitarian values, promote compassionate behavior in the community, advocate for mechanisms and policies to support Red Cross activities and the building and development of the Society, mobilize resources and build a fund to support vulnerable groups in the community, and further enhance the position and prestige of the Red Cross, becoming a trusted address for people from all walks of life, individuals, organizations, and philanthropists to entrust their faith and contribute to humanitarian activities.
The Provincial Red Cross Society presented a symbolic donation and registered its support for the 2024 Humanitarian Month.
The "Good People - Good Deeds - Working Together to Build a Compassionate Community" movement aims to spread and multiply examples of good people and good deeds, contributing to building a cultured way of life, upholding humanitarian values, and forming humane and compassionate behavior in society.
Leaders of Lam Thao district presented certificates of recognition for "Golden Heart" to the sponsors.
At the event, sponsors and the Red Cross Societies of 13 districts, cities, and towns in the province donated and pledged support for activities during the Humanitarian Month with a total value of nearly 6 billion VND. Delegates presented certificates of "Compassionate Community" to Cao Xa commune and certificates of "Golden Heart" to sponsors. They also presented symbolic aid to 14 humanitarian addresses with a total value of over 97 million VND and 30 gift packages to students and families in difficult circumstances in Cao Xa commune, Lam Thao district, worth 21 million VND.
