Truck discovered transporting 700 packs of cigarettes suspected of being smuggled

On August 1, through a source of information, at National Highway 14 (section through Hoa Phu commune, Buon Ma Thuot city), the Inspection Team of Market Management Team No. 1 (under Dak Lak Market Management Department) coordinated with the Traffic Police Department (Provincial Police) to conduct an administrative vehicle inspection of a truck with license plate 51C-148.79 driven by driver Nguyen Anh Tuan (residing in village 5, Ea Tieu commune, Cu Kuin district).

The inspection team discovered 700 packs of JET cigarettes on the vehicle. At the time of the inspection, the driver could not prove the legality of the cigarettes. There were no cigarette stamps or warnings on the cigarette packaging.

Market management forces check suspected smuggled cigarettes.

Accordingly, the Inspection Team has drawn up a record to temporarily detain and seal all of the above cigarettes for further verification and handling according to the provisions of law.
