According to the Minister of Public Security, the crime situation regarding social order continued to be complex, with the number of crimes increasing by 12.53%. The rate of investigation and discovery of crimes related to social order reached 83.48% (8.48% higher than the target set by the National Assembly); of which very serious cases reached 95.15%, and especially serious cases reached 97.08%. Crimes related to corruption, economic crimes , and smuggling continued to be complex in many areas in most localities. The number of corruption and official misconduct cases detected, investigated, and prosecuted increased by 20.55%, while the number of economic management offenses decreased by 2.4%, and the number of smuggling cases increased by 8.25%. High-tech crimes continued to increase with many new methods and tactics. Authorities blocked access to over 23,500 websites and social media accounts engaging in illegal activities; 1,521 cases were prosecuted, involving 658 individuals. Morning session, November 26. Photo: Pham Dong The situation regarding drug-related crime and social ills continues to be complex. Authorities have dismantled numerous large-scale, transnational drug trafficking and transportation rings, as well as drug hotspots; transformed areas with complex drug problems at the local level; and increased the number of drug-related crimes detected and processed by 2.49%. Detention facilities consistently adhere to and strictly implement legal regulations on temporary detention and custody. However, the number of new and existing detainees continues to increase and remains high, especially those sentenced to death. Ministries, sectors, and localities continue to coordinate, advise, and cooperate with international agencies and organizations, as well as border provinces, on crime prevention and control; combating human trafficking; and combating drug trafficking. Citizen protection efforts have been carried out, resulting in the rescue of nearly 1,500 citizens from Myanmar. According to Minister Luong Tam Quang, the main reasons for the aforementioned shortcomings and limitations are primarily due to the continued increase in crime and legal violations; the role and responsibility of Party committees, governments, and the heads of some agencies, organizations, and units have not been adequately emphasized; resources for crime prevention and control are still insufficient to meet practical requirements; and the capacity, qualifications, and sense of responsibility of a portion of officials and civil servants do not meet practical requirements. In 2025, the Minister of Public Security stated that the Government will continue to proactively improve the quality of monitoring, analyzing, and forecasting the situation, and provide strategic advice early and from afar... Effectively implement plans and measures to ensure security and safety. Focus on detecting, preventing, and neutralizing the plots and activities of terrorism, sabotage, and incitement to protests that disrupt security and order by hostile and reactionary forces and opposition elements. Directing authorities at all levels to effectively resolve disputes and complaints early on, starting from the grassroots. Focusing on identifying and proactively implementing sustainable crime control solutions, striving to meet set targets. Launching strong and decisive attacks against all types of crime; improving the quality and effectiveness of receiving and handling crime reports, requests for prosecution, and investigating and handling crimes; promptly addressing and resolving identified shortcomings and violations. Strengthening patrols, inspections, and handling of violations related to traffic safety and fire prevention; ensuring security and safety of detention facilities.
