Promoting the role of women in family building

Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Quang Trung Commune (Ngoc Lac) Luong Thi Thuy is one of the typical examples to be commended and awarded "Raising healthy children, teaching good children" recently organized by the Provincial Women's Union. Ms. Thuy shared: "To have a healthy lifestyle and understanding and sharing in the family, my husband and I always maintain discipline, discipline, and treat our children fairly. Each member must be aware of their role and responsibility to build a common home together."

Ms. Thuy's family has 2 children studying in junior high school and primary school. The children are all well-behaved and good at studying. In addition to doing well in their professional work at the office, the couple always support each other in raising their children, setting a good example for their children to follow. They always spend time with their children to talk, share and guide their comprehensive development, while creating a happy atmosphere for the family. She herself is also a volleyball player who has contributed a lot to the achievements of the local team. She cares, connects and shares difficulties with many other households in the village and commune, especially in the work of promoting education in the locality, helping many disadvantaged children have the conditions to excel in their studies...

On the occasion of Vietnamese Family Day June 28, 2025, 70 members of the "Female Workers in Residential Areas" Club in the whole province participated in the "Typical Happy Female Workers' Families" festival with contents such as: Ring the Golden Bell to learn about building a happy family; Catch the word to learn about the rights of female workers; "Word Matching" game with the theme "Family Connecting Love"... This is an opportunity for Club members and members of female workers' families to exchange, share experiences, and improve knowledge about building a happy family. Thereby, creating motivation to help families connect, spread love more, strive in work, create many quality products, contributing to the development of Thanh Hoa province.

These are two of many activities organized by the Provincial Women's Union to honor the good values of Vietnamese families and the role of women in "keeping the fire" in the family. There is a saying: "Having a place to return to is home. Having people to love is family. Having both is happiness." This is also the goal of every Vietnamese family in the renovation period that all levels of the provincial Women's Union focus on implementing.

Clearly defining the role and responsibility of women and concretizing the emulation movement "Building Vietnamese women of the new era" with the core criteria "Having knowledge, having morality, having health, having responsibility for themselves, family, society and country" launched by the Central Women's Union, the Women's Unions at all levels in the province have implemented many activities to support women in developing integration, cultivating the good values of Vietnamese families. In particular, focusing on activities such as: Innovating content, diversifying forms of propaganda,education to raise awareness for cadres, members, women and the community about the role of women in building Thanh Hoa culture and people; educating women to preserve and promote the good traditions of the family, homeland and country, building a healthy lifestyle, being responsible for family, society...

In carrying out their roles and responsibilities, the Women's Union at all levels in the province have concretized them into meaningful and practical movements and activities with their own colors that have been widely spread. In particular, family work has been effectively carried out through the synchronous and comprehensive implementation of the Campaign "Building a family of 5 no's, 3 clean's, contributing to fostering Vietnamese family values" and the model of "5 yes's, 3 clean's" (having a safe house, sustainable livelihood, health, knowledge, cultural lifestyle and clean house, clean kitchen, clean alley). The Union has integrated implementation with projects, programs... to have resources to support members and women, especially in economic development, sustainable poverty reduction and knowledge training. This is one of the key activities of the work of building happy families. Because when material life is improved, women will have the conditions and time to take care of their families and participate in other social activities.

In the first 6 months of 2025 alone, the association at all levels had more than 8,500 poor and near-poor households receiving assistance in various forms (working days, livestock, seedlings, fertilizers, etc.) worth over 8 billion VND; awarded 45 breeding cows of the "Cow/Buffalo Bank" model worth nearly 500 million VND to members and poor women; the association at all levels mobilized capital through banks and credit institutions with a total outstanding debt of more than 14,000 billion VND for thousands of members and women to borrow and develop the economy; coordinated the transfer of science and technology, managed capital sources for 6,000 women, and provided vocational training for more than 1,500 women...

In addition, the Provincial Women's Union also promotes education on family cultural traditions; organizes many activities to support women in studying to improve their qualifications, expertise and skills such as: digital transformation, popularizing digital skills, responding to the movement "Digital literacy for the masses"; coordinates to eliminate illiteracy for ethnic minority women in remote areas; supports children, especially girls in difficult circumstances to go to school; mobilizes and supports nearly 94,000 women to buy health insurance cards; presents over 14,000 gifts to poor women and children worth more than 6 billion VND under the program "Millions of gifts to share love"; mobilizes resources of 1 billion 324 million VND to implement the program "Accompanying women in the border areas"; mobilizes to build and repair 20 "Shelters of love" worth more than 1.1 billion VND; Connecting and sponsoring more than 2,200 orphans in 26/26 districts, towns and cities, total support funding in the first 6 months of 2025 reached over 2.7 billion VND, contributing to implementing social security activities...

To promote the role of women in building happy families and creating healthy cells for society, women need active support from family and society. When women succeed, they will gradually improve their position as well as build happy and sustainable families.
