Science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation are the main driving forces for developing modern productive forces.

On April 4, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (UEH) organized a seminar on "Policy to promote science, technology, innovation and digital transformation in localities to implement Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo" on developing science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation. The seminar was attended by representatives of science and technology agencies, research institutes, and universities.

Speaking at the event, Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh, Director of UEH, emphasized that developing science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation are the most important factors to develop modern productive forces, innovate management methods and develop the economy and society.

Dr. Le Yen Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Social Sciences and Natural Resources (Ministry of Science and Technology), said that Resolution 57 demonstrates the determination of the Party and State in putting science , technology and digital transformation at the center of national development, with the goal of Vietnam becoming a modern industrialized and high-income country by 2045.

Dr. Nguyen Huu Xuyen, Institute of Strategy and Policy on Science and Technology, said that agriculture has helped Vietnam escape poverty, industry has now turned the country into a middle-income country, and with breakthroughs in science and technology, innovation and digital transformation, Vietnam will become a high-income country by 2045. He called for the rapid institutionalization of specific solutions to effectively implement Resolution 57.

Associate Professor, Dr. Phan Thi Bich Nguyet, Chairwoman of the UEH Strategy and Policy Advisory Council, emphasized that institutional quality is a decisive factor in the policy and business environment, thereby affecting innovation and income of localities.

The seminar not only affirmed UEH's role in accompanying localities in policy planning and implementation but also contributed to the country's sustainable development through research and implementation of specific solutions in science and technology and digital transformation.
