Recently, the Government has assigned specific tasks, requiring Quang Ngai to complete 6,300 social housing units by 2030. Accordingly, Quang Ngai has made social housing development a key goal in the province's socio -economic development strategy. The Department of Construction has quickly reviewed land funds to attract investment in social housing development. As a result, there are currently 7 locations, with an area of ​​nearly 8 hectares belonging to commercial housing projects and urban areas, where 20% of the land fund is required for social housing. At the same time, there are 23 locations with a total area of ​​nearly 298 hectares that are independent locations to attract investment and develop social housing, including Quang Ngai City with 3 locations (82 hectares), Dung Quat Economic Zone with 20 locations (216 hectares).

Previously, Quang Ngai approved locations for social housing development in 2023 to attract investment and this list has been made public by the Department of Construction. Of which, Quang Ngai City has 4 locations in Nghia Dong, Tinh An Tay, Tinh Hoa and Nghia Dung communes. In Binh Son district, there are 10 locations, including beautiful locations in Doc Soi area, Binh Nguyen commune; Van Tuong area, Binh Tri commune; near the sea area in Binh Chau commune and other locations in Binh Long and Binh Tan Phu communes... In addition, Son Tinh district has 5 locations for social housing development, located in Truong Xuan area, Tinh Ha commune and near Tinh Phong Industrial Park. Mo Duc district has also planned social housing locations to serve An Son - Duc Lan Industrial Cluster...

In Quang Ngai City, the location of the land for the construction of social housing in Phu My New Urban Area, invested by the Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUD). This land area has an area of ​​over 15,500 square meters, the project is expected to be 9 floors high with 384 apartments, serving 1,000 people. Currently, the investor has hired a consultant to prepare a feasibility study report and basic design to submit to the competent authority for appraisal. This project aims to concretize the detailed planning at a scale of 1/500 of Phu My New Urban Area and create a housing fund to meet the needs of those who are beneficiaries of social housing policies according to regulations. The total investment of the project is 450 billion VND, implemented from 2025 - 2028 with the investor's capital.

Deputy Director of the Department of Construction Nguyen Huu Hong said that according to Decision No. 444/QD-TTg of the Government dated February 27, 2025, the target for social housing development by 2030 is 6,300 units, including 800 units in 2028, 2,000 units in 2029, and 3,500 units in 2030. It is expected that in 2025, the social housing project in Phu My New Urban Area will start construction. In addition to attracting investment in social housing development, the Department of Construction is also urgently urging commercial housing projects and urban areas to fulfill their obligations to build social housing according to regulations.

In addition, Quang Ngai is also considering using the budget to invest in social housing projects at planned land locations. At the same time, the province allocates resources for compensation, resettlement support and technical infrastructure connection, ensuring synchronous social housing projects. Implement measures to create clean land funds, in order to attract social housing investment quickly and effectively.
