“NEW GENE” – Manifesto of the young creative generation

“NEW GENE” – literally “new gene generation” – is a name with an ambitious message: introducing a generation of young designers who dare to think, dare to do, and dare to be different. This is an annual graduation fashion show co-organized by the Fashion Club and the Faculty of Fine Arts Design – Hanoi Architectural University, and has become an important milestone marking the maturity of young designers.

This year's event is even more special as it is part of a series of activities celebrating the 20th anniversary of the tradition of training in Fine Arts - Applied Arts of the Faculty of Fine Arts Design.

“From students – For students”: Unique organizational structure

Unlike professional catwalks organized by event companies, NEW GENE 2025 is organized by a “powerful duo”: the Faculty of Fine Arts Design and the Fashion Club of Hanoi Architectural University (HAU Fashion Club).

The special thing is that most of the stages from planning, production, coordination, communication, logistics, etc. are undertaken by the students themselves, with the close guidance and support of specialized lecturers. This model not only helps students demonstrate their comprehensive professional capacity, but also creates a spirit of “self-doing – self-leading – self-growing”.

Professional operating departments like a real team

The NEW GENE 2025 Organizing Committee is divided into 4 specialized committees, each with a clear structure, specific tasks and coordinated smoothly to make the overall success:

Professional Department (Model & Stylist)

Responsible for selecting, working and training with professional models and student models. Also responsible for creating the style image for the collections on display, coordinating styling, make-up and fitting for the rehearsal. This is also the committee responsible for coordinating the catwalk, lineup, movements and stage design.

Foreign Affairs Department

In charge of inviting guests of honor, representatives of the Department of Culture, KOLs/KOCs, designers, famous artists... At the same time, work with sponsors, media sponsors and coordinate the relationship between the school - businesses - creative community.

Communications Department

Be the “face” of the show to the public: build event identity, write press releases, create communication products such as posters, videos , TikTok reels, develop content strategies on fanpage, Instagram, TikTok and coordinate influencers.

Events Department

Take charge of the entire production and organization of the show space: from stage construction, backstage, sound - lighting - engineering, security - audience control, to coordinating rehearsals and running the program. This is the real "operating machine" on the day of the show.

A creative stage – An industry “workshop”

The event space at the Hanoi University of Architecture Gymnasium was transformed into a professional runway, where students directly applied design, project management, teamwork and communication skills to a specific product - the graduation show.

Many people in the industry commented: “NEW GENE is not just a show, but a true practical education model.”

An inspiring organizational model for students nationwide

Through many successful seasons, NEW GENE has become a model for empowering students, transforming them from learners to workers, from spectators to central figures. Therefore, the club model combined with specialized faculties is being learned and implemented by many other universities in the field of fine arts and design.

NEW GENE 2025 is not only a place for graduation collections to shine, but also a “silent stage” for hundreds of students who are working day and night behind the scenes. Through each season, these young people not only practice their professional skills, but also grow in their thinking, sense of responsibility and practical creativity.

It is this professionalism, meticulousness and energy that has contributed to shaping the unique value of the Faculty of Fine Arts Design - Hanoi University of Architecture, affirming its position as a cradle training future generations of designers, stylists, art curators and creative managers.
