Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang; Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Hoang Duc Thang; Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee Ly Kieu Van joined the delegation.

In Dakrong district, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong presented 30 gifts to policy families and people with revolutionary contributions who are in difficult circumstances in the district. Army Corps 12 donated 200 million VND to the Dakrong District Gratitude Fund.

As a mountainous border district, Dakrong district has a total natural area of over 118,480 hectares, a population of over 49,900 people, of which the Van Kieu and Pa Co ethnic groups account for nearly 80% of the total population of the district. The whole district has 13 administrative units including 12 communes and 1 town, of which 11/13 communes and towns are in particularly difficult situations. The poverty rate in the district is 38.04%; near-poor households are 11.1%; of which poor households are ethnic minorities accounting for 97% of the total poor households in the whole district.

In recent years, with the attention and investment of the Party and the State through the National Target Programs, the lives of the people in the district have been increasingly improved, the local economic, political and social situation has had many positive changes, political security, social order and safety have been maintained, investment resources have been implemented synchronously in many fields. Currently, in the district, there are 2,700 families with revolutionary contributions, of which 1,065 people with revolutionary contributions and relatives of people with revolutionary contributions are receiving monthly allowances.
In line with the nation’s tradition of “remembering the source of water when drinking” and “remembering the person who planted the tree when eating fruit”, in recent years, the work of caring for war invalids, sick soldiers, families of policy beneficiaries, and people with meritorious services to the revolution has always received attention from all levels, sectors, and society. Therefore, the lives of families of policy beneficiaries and people with meritorious services to the revolution have been increasingly improved.

Speaking at the gift-giving ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong expressed his deep gratitude to the Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, wounded and sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs, and people with meritorious services to the revolution who have sacrificed their blood and bones and made great contributions to the cause of national liberation and national construction.
Emphasizing that every inch of land in Quang Tri province is soaked with the blood and bones of heroes, martyrs, and families who have contributed to the revolution. They sacrificed everything, devoted their human and material resources, fought under the rain of bombs and bullets to fight and protect the Fatherland. Overcoming that pain and loss, Quang Tri has gradually built, restored, and developed its economy in peacetime.

Highly appreciated Quang Tri province in the past time for effectively implementing the guidelines, policies of the Party and State in doing well the work of "Repaying gratitude" to take care of families of war invalids, martyrs, people with meritorious services to the revolution in particular and the people's lives in general are increasingly improving.
Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong hopes that in the coming time, promoting the revolutionary tradition, the people in the province will continue to develop the economy and build their homeland. At the same time, he requested Dakrong district in particular and Quang Tri province in general to continue to pay attention, care for and better implement preferential policies for people with revolutionary contributions in the area as well as support people to promote economic development.
