According to the summary of Yen Thanh commune, due to the impact of storm No. 5, in the commune, 26 corrugated iron roofs were blown off, 5 tile-roofed houses had their roofs blown off, 1 shop completely collapsed, 164m of wall collapsed; 35 billboards and advertising posters; the corrugated iron roof at the Holy Temple was thrown out into the field; the corrugated iron roof of the residential block headquarters was severely damaged; 25 electric poles were broken and collapsed.

The agricultural sector was severely affected, with 2 greenhouses and membrane houses severely damaged, estimated at about 600 million VND in damage; about 900 hectares of ripening rice were knocked over or fell; 3 hectares of sugarcane were knocked over or broken; 10 hectares of damaged vegetables (near harvest stage); 3 hectares of corn (near harvest stage) were knocked over or broken; 2 hectares of flowers (seedling stage); 3 hectares of fruit trees were knocked over or broken. Total damage was estimated at about 28 billion VND.

In addition, the damage to aquatic products included 11.6 hectares of fish farms being flooded, causing damage of about 600 million VND; 11 frog cages being swept away; 79.3 hectares of forestry trees being fallen or broken, causing total damage of about 12 billion VND; and 2,000 fruit trees being fallen or broken.

The education and health sectors were severely affected. Of which, Tang Thanh Primary School had a damaged metal roof of the garage; Nhan Thanh Cong Secondary School had its tiled roof blown off, a wooden frame attached to the stage was broken...; 5 schools were affected including: Van Thanh Kindergarten, Hoa Thanh Kindergarten, Yen Thanh Town Primary School, Nhan Thanh Kindergarten, Nhan Thanh Primary School. Bach Lieu Secondary School had many tiles blown off; the garage of Yen Thanh Town Kindergarten was damaged...

Next, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Thanh An and the working delegation inspected the impact and damage recovery work caused by storm No. 5 in Dong Thanh commune.

According to local statistics, due to the impact of storm No. 5, in Dong Thanh commune, 25 houses had their corrugated iron roofs blown off, 10 livestock barns were damaged; 700 hectares of rice fields were damaged, the extent of damage has not been determined; 0.5 hectares of fruit trees were damaged.

In the commune, Hong Thanh Primary School, Ho Tong Thoc Primary School and Do Thanh Secondary School had many damaged items.

In addition, due to the storm, some roads were flooded, trees fell and broke, affecting traffic. The commune mobilized forces to promptly handle the situation to clear the roads and ensure traffic safety.

To respond to storm No. 5, localities have proactively deployed the "4 on-site" plan to quickly fix the problem. At the same time, they have assigned 24/7 staff, fully prepared human resources, materials, means and equipment to respond to any situation that may arise.

After the storm, local authorities inspected and mobilized forces to handle fallen trees and roofs to ensure traffic for people. Currently, they are coordinating with the Electricity industry to fix power problems to ensure power supply for people to use as soon as possible.

Through inspections in two localities, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Thanh An acknowledged and highly appreciated the timely response efforts of the Party Committee and authorities to storm No. 5, especially ensuring absolute safety of people's lives.

At the same time, localities are required to prioritize repairing schools, immediately handle potentially dangerous locations, ensure student safety, and request the Department of Finance to pay attention to arranging financial support for localities to repair in time for the new school year.
