Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen The Giang inspected the situation of overcoming the consequences of floods in Lam Binh

Comrade Nguyen The Giang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, inspected the impact and recovery from storms in Phuc Yen commune (Lam Binh).

Due to the impact of heavy rain on the night of May 22 and early morning of May 23, heavy rain occurred in Lam Binh district, causing damage to people's houses, property and agricultural crops.

Of which, nearly 15 hectares of rice were damaged, with an estimated loss of over 700 million VND. In Phuc Yen commune, 7 houses were damaged by natural disasters, of which 3 houses were buried by landslides with a loss of over 70%. The landslide completely collapsed the toilet of Xuan Lap Boarding Primary and Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities and a number of canals.

Local authorities and relevant agencies have mobilized forces to support affected families, clear landslides and rocks that have spilled onto sidewalks, roadbeds, and longitudinal ditches to ensure traffic.

Comrade Nguyen The Giang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, presented support to the family of Mr. Chuc Tong Sy, Phuc Yen commune (Lam Binh), whose house was 70% buried by a landslide.

Through the on-site inspection, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the proactive response to the flood situation of the local government and people in the district. He suggested that Lam Binh district and relevant agencies proactively follow the 4-on-the-spot motto to overcome the consequences caused by floods; have plans to ensure the lives, production and daily activities of local people, especially in the face of complicated weather developments.
