(gialai.gov.vn) - On the morning of November 5, a working delegation of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee led by Mr. Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee inspected the actual storm prevention and control work at a number of traffic construction projects in communes and wards in the eastern part of the province. Accompanying the delegation were leaders of the Departments of Agriculture and Environment, Finance, Construction; leaders of the Provincial Traffic and Civil Works Project Management Board and leaders of the communes and wards: Quy Nhon Nam, Quy Nhon Bac, Quy Nhon Dong; Tuy Phuoc; Tuy Phuoc Dong and Cat Tien.

The delegation inspected the progress and safety measures at traffic projects in Quy Nhon Nam ward and DT 639 route (from National Highway 1D to the new National Highway 19) and DT 639 route (from Diem Van to Cat Tien).

At the scene, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang requested the construction units, the Provincial Traffic and Civil Works Project Management Board and local authorities to proactively deploy plans to respond to storms and floods, especially the reinforcement of slopes, drainage systems, dredging of waterways, and protection of construction machinery and materials. He emphasized: Contractors must not neglect safety for the sake of progress. All construction activities must be temporarily stopped when there is a warning of dangerous weather, while ensuring absolute safety for workers and vehicles. At the same time, he directed contractors and construction units to concentrate vehicles and machinery to be ready for combat, urgently coordinate with localities to dredging waterways when there is heavy rain and evacuate people from low-lying areas with high risk of flooding.

For completed and handed-over projects, comrade Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang also requested the Provincial Traffic and Civil Works Project Management Board to continue reviewing to ensure no incidents occur and to carry out good storm and flood prevention work.

Regarding the resettlement planning area of ​​Quy Nhon Nam ward, he requested the ward leaders to have a clear understanding of the planning to review the infrastructure, both to improve and invest in socio -economic development. At the same time, urgently handle the flooded road section causing traffic congestion.
