Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son congratulated the officials entrusted by the Party, State and Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the responsibility of leading the Vietnamese representative agencies in two important localities, Cambodia and the Russian Federation. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that in the context of the international and regional situation still facing many potential challenges, the role of the Consulates General is increasingly promoted in the synchronous implementation of local foreign affairs, economic diplomacy, cultural diplomacy and citizen protection.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested the Consuls General to continue promoting the spirit of initiative and creativity, grasping the local situation, closely following the orientation and direction of the Party, State and Ministry of Foreign Affairs leaders to effectively implement the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization and diversification for the national interest. At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen the connection between localities, domestic enterprises with local partners, strongly promote economic, trade, investment, cultural and tourism cooperation; pay attention to supporting the community and doing a good job of protecting citizens.

The Consuls General affirmed that they will focus on promoting economic diplomacy, strengthening connections between localities and businesses, and deepening cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation and Cambodia. At the same time, community work and citizen protection will continue to be one of the focuses, thereby contributing to affirming the role of a reliable support for overseas Vietnamese in the host country.
