Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son presented the decision to appoint Vietnamese Consul General to Russia and Cambodia.

On the afternoon of June 17, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son chaired the ceremony to hand over the appointment decisions of the Consul General of Vietnam in Vladivostok, Russian Federation and the Consul General of Vietnam in Battambang, Cambodia.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son chaired the ceremony to hand over the appointment decisions of the Consul General of Vietnam in Vladivostok, Russian Federation and the Consul General of Vietnam in Battambang, Cambodia.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh, Deputy Head of the Office, Assistant to the President; representatives of leaders of a number of units under the Office of the President and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son congratulated the officials who were entrusted by the Party, State and Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the responsibility of leading the Vietnamese representative agencies in the two important localities of Cambodia and the Russian Federation. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that in the context of the international and regional situation still facing many potential challenges, the role of the Consulates General is increasingly being promoted in the synchronous implementation of local foreign affairs, economic diplomacy, cultural diplomacy and citizen protection.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son presented the decision to appoint Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien as Consul General of Vietnam in Vladivostok, Russian Federation.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested the Consuls General to continue to promote the spirit of initiative, creativity, grasp the local situation, closely follow the orientation and direction of the Party, State and Ministry of Foreign Affairs leaders to effectively implement the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization and diversification for the national interest. At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen the connection between localities, domestic enterprises and local partners, strongly promote economic, trade, investment, cultural and tourism cooperation; pay attention to supporting the community and doing a good job of protecting citizens.

On behalf of the Office of the President, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh, Deputy Head of the Office, Assistant to the President, expressed his gratitude for the trust, support and close coordination of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in personnel work over the past time; and congratulated Comrade Tran Tuan Anh on his appointment as Consul General of Vietnam in Battambang, Cambodia. Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh believes that Comrade Tran Tuan Anh will continue to promote his mettle, intelligence and sense of responsibility to excellently fulfill his assigned tasks, contributing to consolidating and developing the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia.

On behalf of the appointed comrades, Vietnamese Consul General in Battambang Tran Tuan Anh expressed his honor to be entrusted with the new responsibility by the Party, State and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He sincerely thanked the Ministry's leaders for their attention and guidance and pledged to make every effort, promote a high sense of responsibility, strengthen internal solidarity, and closely coordinate with units inside and outside the diplomatic sector to successfully complete the assigned tasks.

The Consuls General affirmed that they will focus on promoting economic diplomacy, strengthening connections between localities and businesses, and deepening cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation and Cambodia. At the same time, community work and citizen protection will continue to be one of the focuses, thereby contributing to affirming the role of a reliable support for overseas Vietnamese in the host country.
