Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh pays homage to the relics of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc at Vietnam National Pagoda.

Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh and a delegation of leaders from central agencies and Ho Chi Minh City visited Vietnam Quoc Tu Pagoda (District 10, Ho Chi Minh City) to visit the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and pay homage to the heart relic of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc on the afternoon of May 7.

Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh congratulated the Buddhist Sangha on hosting the 2025 United Nations Day of Vesak in Ho Chi Minh City, which after two days has left good impressions on its scale and a series of rich and widespread events.

The Deputy Prime Minister also discussed with the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Thich Tri Quang about the organization of monks, nuns, and Buddhists to pay homage to the relics of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc as well as to worship him later.

Most Venerable Thich Tri Quang expressed his gratitude to the state leaders for approving the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha to invite the Bodhisattva's heart relics to be permanently enshrined at Da Bao Tower - a monument commemorating the 1963 Dharma Persecution in the grounds of Viet Nam Quoc Tu.

The Supreme Patriarch presented a bronze portrait of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc immolating himself and the Vesak 2025 symbol in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Supreme Patriarch and Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh also discussed and shared a number of issues related to Buddhism with tradition and the times, in philosophy as well as practice.

On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh, his wife, and leaders of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Ho Chi Minh City visited the Bodhisattva relics enshrined at the Vietnam National Pagoda Hall and listened to the historical story of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc who self-immolated on June 11, 1963, leaving behind an immortal heart relic./.
