Thanh Hoa provides more than 21.8 billion VND to support teachers in reviewing for graduation exams

On May 29, the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province issued a decision approving additional budget estimates for extra tutoring for the 9th and 12th grade graduation exams (overtime teaching) in 2025 in the province, with a total budget of more than 21.8 billion VND.

The above funding will be provided to 88 secondary and high schools under the Departmentof Education and Training, with a total amount of more than 11.9 billion VND.

Granted to the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to grant to secondary schools and vocational education - continuing education centers under their management is more than 9.9 billion VND.

The Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Finance to guide units in managing and using funds for extra teaching and learning, ensuring compliance with current legal regulations.

The Department of Education and Training is responsible for regularly monitoring, guiding, inspecting, and supervising extra teaching and learning in the province; handling according to its authority or requesting competent authorities to handle violations (if any) regarding extra teaching and learning according to regulations.

The People's Committees of districts, towns, cities and educational institutions that receive additional funding are responsible for managing and using the allocated funding in accordance with the regime, policies, conditions, standards, norms, goals, and targets, in a thrifty, effective, public, transparent manner, and to prevent loss and waste.

Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , teacher Nguyen Nam Son - principal of Muong Lat High School, Muong Lat mountainous district (Thanh Hoa) - said that implementing Circular 29 of the Ministry of Education and Training on management of extra teaching and learning, from the beginning of March 2025 until now, 13 teachers have been reviewing graduation exams for 318 12th grade students of the school without charging any fees.

Teachers are willing and volunteer to review graduation exams for 12th grade students, with a total of 1,152 lessons as of the graduation exam preparation date.

"This time, Muong Lat High School was granted more than 120 million VND to pay for teachers to review for graduation exams, with an estimated income of 104,000 VND per lesson.

"The school's staff and teachers are very excited to receive timely payment for graduation exam review, which motivates teachers to work with peace of mind," said Mr. Nguyen Nam Son.

It is known that currently, junior high and high schools in Thanh Hoa province are completing procedures to provide graduation exam preparation money for teachers.
