Buddha's Birthday 2025 in Ninh Binh spreads wisdom, connects humanity

On May 10, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ninh Binh province coordinated with Bai Dinh Pagoda to solemnly organize the Buddha's Birthday Celebration of Buddhist calendar 2569-Solar calendar 2025 with the theme "Spreading wisdom - Connecting human life".

Attending the ceremony were comrade Doan Minh Huan, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee; representatives of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Ninh Binh province; representatives of the Ninh Binh provincial leadership, along with nearly 5,000 monks, nuns, Buddhists and people.

At the ceremony, Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, Permanent Vice President of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Abbot of Bai Dinh Pagoda, read the message of the 2569th Buddha's Birthday Celebration from the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.

Most Venerable Thich Minh Quang, Secretary of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Head of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ninh Binh province, read a speech and the meaning of Buddha's birthday.

The delegates solemnly chanted Buddha's name to pray for blessings, and played the National Anthem and the Religious Song at the Grand Ceremony.

Accordingly, the message and speech call on every Buddhist worldwide to always diligently practice, embody compassion, spread love to all living beings, light up the world with the light of compassion and wisdom; unite, be harmonious and actively work with humanity to create a truly peaceful and happy world ; take people as the center, respect dignity, leave no one behind on the journey of sustainable development...

The 2025 Vesak Celebration is not only an occasion for every Buddhist to commemorate the three great events in the life of Buddha Shakyamuni: Birth - Enlightenment - Nirvana, but also a day of global cultural and spiritual convergence, where humanity together turns towards the universal values ​​of Buddhist wisdom: compassion, wisdom and peace for today's world.

Congratulating at the Grand Ceremony, Comrade Bui Mai Hoa, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee emphasized that, promoting the tradition of solidarity and companionship with the nation, over the past year, all levels of the Buddhist Sangha and Buddhist compatriots in the province have joined hands with the Party Committee and government to always take the lead in many activities that benefit the country and the people such as: Actively participating in the movement to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas, civilized tourism, charity, humanitarian activities, social security, education and talent promotion; relief for compatriots in difficulty.

Typically, Catholic dignitaries and officials joined hands to build 54 houses of solidarity between Catholics and non-Catholics, build bridges, and build electric lighting lines to historical sites. These are typical projects nationwide, a unique way of doing things that is unique to Ninh Binh.

In the coming time, he believes that the venerable clergy, monks, nuns, Buddhist followers and people in the province will continue to preserve and promote the tradition of "Protecting the nation and bringing peace to the people", closely accompanying the nation of Vietnamese Buddhism; strengthen solidarity and harmony, take serving sentient beings as a means to practice and attain enlightenment, affirming the superior values ​​of Buddhism - Religion and peace.

On this occasion, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ninh Binh province coordinated with Xuan Truong Construction Enterprise to present gifts to 200 students who have overcome difficulties in studying in Gia Vien and Nho Quan districts, each gift worth 1 million VND.

In the sacred atmosphere of Buddha's birthday, delegates, monks, nuns and Buddhists solemnly celebrated the birthday of Buddha Shakyamuni; performed incense offering, praying, bathing Buddha... with the wish for national peace, world peace, happiness for all living beings, and good hearts.

In addition, the ceremony organized a student retreat with the theme "Returning to the Root of Enlightenment - Taking refuge in Compassion"; tea meditation with the theme "Tea Fragrance of Buddha's Season - Sweet Taste of Compassion"; a Buddhist exhibition with the theme "Buddhist Culture - Connecting Religion and Life" about the life of Buddha and his teachings.

This year's Buddha's Birthday celebration at Bai Dinh Pagoda has profound significance as it takes place on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025); at the same time, it is also the time when the United Nations Vesak 2025 was successfully held in Ho Chi Minh City.
